  1. My preference is the google maps. When I noticed the mapquest link back, I went to my preferences, and there wasn't an option there. Then I came here, and find that its been switched Perhaps that is one way to make everybody happy. Make it an option in preferences. While we're talking about maps. I really like local.live.com the resolution is best where I do most of my caching. I worked up a custom url for gsak for local.live.com that works pretty well. Or a link to the really neat google maps as an option?
  2. I used to use a Zire 72 until the power connector came loose, now I use an E2 and a Holux 235 bluetooth gps, they work pretty well, but it takes a couple seconds for updates. Its handy to have the cache info and the gps in one unit, though losing it, scares me, or breaking it. I use GSAK and Cachemate to get caches in my E2 and track them, respectively. Good luck, happy caching!
  3. I have used a Palm Zire 72 and now a Tungsten E22 for geocaching with bluetooth GPSrs. I used delorme's blue tooth, which came with street atlas handheld. But I use cachemate with cachenav to help me find caches. As a mapping program, I use the usb GPSr on my laptop with Street Atlas. For geocaching, I switched to the holux 235 bluetooth GPS, it seems faster, but the direction can be off 180 degrees. I go by distance to the cache. I use GSAK to export cachemate files. The most accuracy I've gotten is about 21' or so.
  4. And the descriptions into your Palm? I've been "Bookmarking" the caches in cachemate, on the palm, that show up in Google Earth, of course I have to have the right pocket query data. I've stuck to very local caches so far, so not sure how it would work on a long trip. Google Earth is excellent. Though Local.live.com has better resolution where I look. I'm still waiting on a way to print them well, on a map.
