1. It is the datum that will change the coordinates completely. The type of units you use shouldn't matter as long as you convert the cache coordinates to match what you use ie W105.41552 -> W105 24.931' -> W105 24' 55.9" hddd.dddd -> hddd mm.mmm -> hddd mm ss.s In this case the conversion very easy, just taking the decimal portion and mutiply by 60 get you the next smaller unit
2. took something, left something, signed log My best guess
3. Depending on which browser you use, it is possible to save the entire web page and then you can send the whole thing to them. In IE, do a 'save as' and make sure the save as type is 'complete webpage'. This will create a folder where you save it.
4. Here are the sizes from the guidelines: *Micro (35 mm film canister or smaller, typically containing only a logbook) *Small (Decon container, sandwich-sized Tupperware-style container or similar, holds trade items as well as a logbook) *Regular (Tupperware-style container or ammo can) *Large (5 gallon bucket or larger) I judge sizes based on the amount the container can hold. The key rock I would consider a micro, just because all you can fit is a log bacsically.
5. Just out of curiosity, I would assume the links don't work (unless you download the link too) but can you decode the hint or do you have to do that be hand? Is there a way to search for the nearest cache from your present location. Always looking for different ways to do things.
6. An additional question. Is it possible to load caches on to the pda en masse? Through a single pocket query you can load 500 caches at a time. If you have GSAK you can combine PQ and filter them however you want
7. If you have paid it through paypal, then it should be instantly. If you have paid by credit card then I belive it is within 1-2 days, assume the days are Monday-Friday and not holidays edit: Remove my bad Grammer
8. Cachemate is an $8 program for Palm and is well worth it. It allow you to seach for the nearest cache and input notes. The program comes with a free coverter program or you can use GSAK, once the converters file is made you just hotsync and it download it to cachemate. Very simple.
9. Since you are a premium member, you can do a pocket query from you account page.
10. The loc files that you can dowload as a non-premium member do not have th notes in them they only have the coordinates for the caches. You have to be able to download GPX files and then use either GSAK or the convert program that comes with cachemate to covert the .pdb file then you just hotsync your palm. I beleive there are other ways of getting the info to palm, but that is the easiest.
11. The GPS doesn't care if you put them in order of distance before loading, it puts them in order of waypoint names (usually alphabetical) If you want to search them in order of nearest you have to put them that way. With the magellan after pressing the GOTO button you should have a option to sort by alpabetical or nearest.
12. Here are a few link to other postings about it one Two Basically the cache page is the only thing lock to non-premium members. If you get the url for the cache logging page and log in as the non-premium and go that url you can log the cache.
13. Yes, you have to log both separatly Link
14. Actually if type completely the url works fine http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?tx=32bc9333-5e52-4957-b0f6-5a2c8fc7b257&ul=Polar+B's Is just that the Url attached to the icon link is: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?tx=32bc9333-5e52-4957-b0f6-5a2c8fc7b257&ul=Polar+B and take you to this PAGE when it should take you to this ONE
15. So I don't know if this has anything to do with the new changes but it only happened recently. When I click on the icons for caches in my profile to see the cache I have found, I get a page that says my usename doesn't exist. It has something to do with my username being shortened in the link http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?tx=32bc9333-5e52-4957-b0f6-5a2c8fc7b257&ul=Polar+B Anyone else have this problem?
16. As for humidity/freezing/thawing, most of them wouldn't have any problems. I have washed one of mine twice and leave another on in my truck in Colorado. Both of them still work just fine.
17. I am almost 30 and I used to get that feeling when I started. I realize now I am doing nothing wrong and just let them stare. That and I firmly belive that people only see what they believe they will see, if you act normal doing non-normal things then you will be ignored. (My mother proved that to me on many occasions). However, I do cache with Maggie my dog, often and that make is a little easier to look normal.
18. PQ's allow you to filter caches with TB in them already. Is there something different you wanted?
19. deleted edit: must remember to refresh before posting
20. The owner of the cache need to start the adoption here :Adoption page This will send a message to the adopter, saying that it is being offered for adoption to them. They just need to follow the instructions in the email edit: and once again Jeremy is faster
21. Not sure if yours is the same, but when I hit the printer properties button in the printer window, I have a print scaling feature under the effects tab. I have an hp printer so it might only work with HP
