Thanks for the idea, I can get into that screen but it freezes there and won't let me modify the numbers. I also got it to do a screen test, key pad, INIT, RF, Init fails saying "No NMEA" RF fails also, but I'm inside. BTW to do the big test hold down - and + on boot. kinda cool except still not doing a good boot.

So my Magellan SporTrak Color keeps reseting after a few seconds, usually doesn't get past the first screen. I tried a hard reset with the - + and GOTO keys. That puts me into a test mode and checks the serial port at various speeds. That works. But once done it goes back into resetting. I connected the serial cable up and took a read, here's what the unit is telling me: the stack keeps going with a bunch of garbage until it resets again. I sent a request in but was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I'm leaving for europe in a week and wanted this unit working so I can geocache while there. I even ordered new USA geocoins and travel bug tags. Any ideas?
