Probably the symbol for infinity... Was the 8 on its side?
  3. Because if you click on the link behind "A cache by" it will take you to the real owner of the cache... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...9a-b7db19a0e047
  4. It used to be referred to as "A Denver". They were normally found in the kitchen and dining area. They usually contained chopped onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, diced ham and cooked crumbled bacon. Finding one of these babies was/is a real treat!
  5. Let the new cachers hide their caches as they see fit (as long as they meet the guidelines). When they have to replace a few after being muggled a light will most likely come on and they will begin to improve their concealment techniques.
  6. Wow, that's some of the most incoherent drivel I've ever read.
  7. It's the boilerplate letter you put in your cache that tells non cachers what they just found. http://www.geocaching.com/articles/geocachenote.txt
  8. 2 traditional caches that are active and both are 1.8 miles on opposite sides of me. A temporarily unavailable mystery cache that is .8 and a multi that's 2.4 miles. And up near 1200 or so that are within an hour. I commute 1.5 hours to work towards Seattle and I've just scratched the surface that direction. Life is good!
  9. Hey Mr. EraSeek can I join your club? Had the same situation today on one of my new caches... Weird.
  10. Tree cover, buildings, faces of cliffs and the likes all add to the DOP (dilution of precision). Not knowing these variables only means we can randomly guess as to what the problem may be. Any chance you could post the ID (GC #) of one of the caches that is off? note: I meant to include the following link. HDOP
  11. Unless your cache was to big to pick up and carry off then what security does the lock provide? How were cachers to get the combo to the cache?
  12. And to play devils advocate, as the cache owner I would be able to remove items I do not want in my cache.
  13. Look below you list of queries. You should see "My Finds", click that and all you finds will be sent to you. You only get to run this one once a week and it counts against you daily limit of 5.
  14. You could also start by reading through the users manual. You can download it here if one did not come with the unit.
  15. Adam and Lisa, It just depends... I posted 3 Sunday night and they were published Monday morning. edit: Did you make sure the box was checked near the top of the form?
  16. And the cache I linked to can be found indoors with a GPSr, so again I ask, why must they be traditional?
  17. Yes, but it can't be a traditional. It must be a letterbox hybrid, Multi, or a mystery/puzzle. Why not traditional? There are plenty of them out there (traditional).
  18. Watson is slated for Labor Day weekend. I wanted to overnight there again and actually try my hand at fishing the lake instead of just do a cursory bait give away. Ahhhhhhhh even better!
  19. If you're still thinking about Watson I'd love to tag along. I'll have 3 seats available from Woolley on up.
  20. For the non-paved stuff we usually drive our Yellow Jeep Travel Bug.
  21. Hey... I was at Home Depot yesterday getting some supplies to work on my "honey-do" list. Well as it turned out, half way through my procurements I needed to use the facilities. So I'm sitting there thinking about things that one would normally think about while in the "rest room" and my 60CSx beeps at me. I had a free moment so I pulled it out of my pocket to see what the fuss was about, it told I had lost reception. Well duh, I was in a steel building, then it happened to re-acquire several satellites and had an accuracy of +-50. It was right about this time that little light over ones head turned on, hey I can mark where I poop! I was thinking of going with something like "ThereIGo" but I figured that may cause some problems with the "Wherigo" folks so I'm going with "I Pooped There" I suspect the domain will be IPoopedThere (if available). Please keep in mind when viewing the image that the reported accuracy was +-50 feet. This one was actually in the Home Depot water closet and not next to the building. You may have also noticed that I pooped within walking distance of four traditional and one (2 if you count mine) mystery caches!
