  1. Way to go Geotrucking.com on the new coins. They are awesome and we really like the gold and silver versions picked up at GW4. Good luck in getting them out there. I know you were sure busy at the event.
  2. We have been to only a few events before but have co-hosted one and I want to say these people did a great job, all things considered, on an event of this size with only a few planners. Hats off to them for some major work and a job well done. The chili event was way cool and so were the others including the CITO event in the end. Still met some cachers we hadnt met before at that one. Drove by Snooginsville a dozen times but the parking lot attendants said they were all full up and to try again later. Loved the huge flamingos they had out there. The hospitality of the local cachers and especially the planning group was just more than nice. We no more backed the camper into place when mcdoodles drove up and hopped out of their van to come welcome us and say hello. They said our little plastic WallyWorld pink flamingo gave us away. Not long after that we got our minivan windows tagged by the park tagger team. One of the words are still there even. Moving on to the following days were able to meet several cachers and reviewers I have only communicated with online. One of them even gave me a coin that I put way up on the top of the list of best coins. They will all go into the collection to show off. We even got 2 of the new Truck tire coins that were selling like hotcackes. Finally got to meet MustangJoni, Chris Rake (CRAKE) and Team 360 as well as those hippies that have the huge bridge run. Did we mention the BBQ dinner? Awesome! Very well done. Loved the silent auction and got some neat coins for a nice price. Bought a bunch of GW4 coins for friends that didnt attend but still wanted some. Stumbled into FiveSecretHunters, Texas Dreamweaver and Houston Control in a car park and ended up doing some night caching and conversation that went on till way after midnight. Fun time there too. Got up the next morning and hoofed it to a bunch of trail caches in the park with KandRS and Houston Control. Mrs. ATMA hates those Bobcats in the woods... Tried the Night/Day run but there were way too many people so we broke off into a smaller group for a more sane caching experience. The rest of the time was spent on caching the Dallas/Fort Worth area with Mrs. ATMA, running into a few cachers on occasion for some small group caching. Some of the finds were done on our mountain bikes and that was a lot of fun too. I had never realized it before but an LED produces heat. Anyone that walked in front of that Texas Sized scrolling marque sign could feel the heat produced by a million super bright LED's firing off at once. In more than a nutshell, this is our take on the event and you can tell, we had a blast! Thanks again for a good event.
  3. Cheap works here too. If the product does the job, the price is a driving force from that point.
  4. Call Garmin and ask them. These people are a great source of information. You could actually have a failure with one of the units.
  5. This makes total sense and is probably the major reason for most of the complaints. If it is one of our caches and is just totally broken, we take it when looking after our hides. If someone doesnt like seeing it in there, just leave it where you found it and let the cache owners decide what to do with it.
  6. We have been buying China made LNL containers 3 for $1 that work just about as good as the Wal-Mart LNL's.
  7. We use a lot of 35mm cans and love them but bag the log first to avoid the water and mold issues. Walgreen's is happy to give me these cans.
  8. Nope, rarely if ever read those. I guess I should say thanks for the information on this and will try the search function at a later date.
  9. I have the same problem and will try this registry change. Sure would be nice to not have to run it from CD. Thanks all for the efforts.
  10. Maybe someone could explain this to me? I cant get the search function to work. I am logged into the forum and when I click the search button while in the forum mode, I get this... Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: "Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available. If you are attempting to SEARCH in the forum this feature is currently disabled due to software issues. We're trying to fix this as soon as we can." Also while in the GC.com site and looking at someones profile I see a link to click that says to click to see that persons forum posts. I get t he same basic error message. What in the world am I doing wrong?
  11. Thanks Tom. The sale of the coins went perfect and they were received 2 days ago in great condition. We appreciate your help.
  12. Thanks a lot for your help. Fast answers are great. At least it isnt something unique to the unit like our eTrex units and can be found locally. Both answers are fantastic and the photos help even more. Now off to the stores to find one.
  13. Our daughter has lost her Legend C interface cable and needs another one. Since we have the standard blue Legend I cant tell her what she needs. Thinking there is probably something on eBay that is less expensive than Garmin direct, we figure to go the eBay route first. Can someone tell me what type of USB cable is used on the Legend C? Thanks and Happy New Year.
  14. Wal-Mart around here for $18. Works great and is smaller than most of the blocky hard plastic ones.
  15. That container is nearly large enough to drive into. Talk about a park and grab!
  16. Rumor has it that Santa is running the Texas coast line with Christmas coins! There are even some variations being reported found as well. I got to see an awesome silver one found in a local cache yesterday. All the finder would let me do is polish it to a bright finish for them and have a good look at it. I sure will be on the lookout for some of the others too.
  17. 302 Finds and 13 Hides whatever that is...
  18. We too try to be just a bit entertaining as well. In our log books, we look forward to finders doing the same. Makes for more fun than just TFTCSL...
  19. I have a multi planned as one of the gifts for my wife. I cant wait to see her do that one.
