  1. Well, when I first started off, I regretted not laminating a card with the info and picture of a geocoin. That way if someone lost it, stole it, or whatever...I wouldn't cry over losing a laminated card. Now, I could really care less what happens to my TB's or geocoins. Other cachers will probably have the same experience(s). Some will note that they found their geocoins being sold online! Ehhh, the few that I lost, I'm sure people added to their own little private collection. I haven't lost sleep over the losses...so...*shrugs*...don't listen to me, I'm just a neighborhood leprechaun after all.
  2. Greetings from a rock in the middle of the big blue wet thing called Hawai'i. I may as well be flying into a foreign country...I've only been to "Seattle" via military SPACE A hops a few times and have never explored the area to any degree outside the base wire. I'm interested to see if there will be any motivated cachers out here in this ACO (area of caching operations) to be a wingperson between the 9th-18th of August. I will be moving by foot, since I can't stand vehicular traffic or renting a vehicle personally in an area that I have no idea how to navigate. Will be present for the 2014 Block Party, Going A.P.E. and a couple other events. If you're enthusiastic and motivated to aid a visiting leprechaun, just fire off a PM to me. I am not your typical P&G cacher. I'm more oriented to the woods and hiking as a cacher, but will not turn down the city since it's foreign to me too. Sláinte! Eóin -Your neighborhood leprechaun-
  3. My situation is this: Went outside today, to attempt my first cache in Hawaii. Unfortunately, my GPS unit (Magellan eXplorist GC) would not pick up a signal. Now I think I am beginning to understand the reason why there aren't so many caches on this side of the island (Windward side of Oahu). Maybe all other GPS units have the same problem? If I could get any other feedback from you lads and lassies in Hawaii, it would be much appreciated. I will eventually take the unit to the other side of the island, to test this theory. Just curious if anyone else out there has encountered this same situation.
