Hi, has anybody else had a problem activating a new travel bug lately? I received the one I purchased through Groundspeak yesterday, however I receive an error when I try to activate it. I have sent an email to contact@Groundspeak.com however I have not yet received any response. (Since this was last night I am probably just being real impatient and need to learn to relax) I have checked (and tried) combinations of 0/o and 1/i and the like. I was wondering if there is an alternative route to take. (My pardon since this is probably a duplicate post. I cannot find a recent one like it however)

Interesting. I've found that, in general, micros are somewhat harder to find than regular-sized caches. In general, It's pretty darn easy to find that ammo can sitting under the pile-o-sticks. I'm not sure how much of a brain is used to find either one. Probably a teeny-tiny percentage, I'm sure. I think you missed the qualifier of "I have found" and thusly his statement could very well be correct and irrefutable. Additionally, he mentioned drive-bys, which depending on punctuation, could also mean they were easy to find either by them being drive-bys or drive-bys in general being easy to find. So, I don't see the reason for you to argue the veracity of his statement which, for him, is correct. Of course, that could easily change once he comes up against an evil micro. Then both halves will be needed. Such as the hollow bolt, or pill-sized bit of rust stuck by magnet under a slide. GRRRRRRRR - (My favorite type of micro hide) But what does this have to do with the OP's question which asked for clarification about cache sizes and did not ask about whether or not micros are fun?

It really depends upon which center you want. Triangles have 3 or 4 centers, depends upon what you are looking for. The suggestion above is one of the middles (don't remember which one) - draw a line center of AB to C draw a line center of BC to A draw a line center of AC to B This only works if it is an equilateral triangle.

Oh c'mon people. Satellites are just passing fads, kind of like that radio and tv thingy. Yes, between tv, radio, gps and internet I do not believe I would know how to function any more. (And just think 5-10 years ago I didn't even have cable tv.)

It would depend upon price but I would probably want a couple of these.

I can add here that I have collected TB's that did not have lamination. On two of them just being in my backpack destroyed the papers so I had to create new, laminated, ones. On another occasion I had a cache get drowned in the spring flood. All paper items were destroyed, whereas laminated were still legible and usable. In my experience lamination is really a good way to go.

I knew I had another point to make, in my last post, I just couldn't remember what it was!! LOL Thanks RK for reminding me! What Renegade Knight said... The "second" part! I will also add that although there will likely be a lot of cachers who would pass it by, there would be a few who go for it BECAUSE of where it is, like egami, who likes this type. You just can't please everyone, every time!!! If you do decide to place this cache, please think really carefully about the type of container!!! See this recent thread, if you haven't already looked at it. Then again it can be kind of fun to see what the short muggles do with the cache. My first hide (now archived) was poorly hidden in a camping area and found by a several kids on several different occasions. Many of them traded and signed the log even though they didn't really know what it was all about. Once the cache went missing for a few days and was returned by the parents. That log book is really interesting to look at. Because it was in a kid area and it was my first hide I used a clear container so that anybody could see what the contents were....

I once cut through an alley that ran behind a museum and across from the police station. I was stopped by some bored officer and warned to never use the alley again. I was on my way to the museum by the way, but it seems they were having problem with vandalism in that area. My point here is that you can have contact with the police no matter what your intention or actions. Caching should not raise that possibility.

Maybe not, but you said you don't care if it does happen. That just seems funny to me. But then I don't have that much experinence so who knows. Since when is getting the police called the "nature of the sport"? I do not remember reading that anywhere in the rules, guidelines and so forth. Can you point me to that reference please. As far as putting a cache in a playground you will really have to think about your situation and act accordingly. I have an adopted cache that is in a playground in a town of less then 500 people. In that situation it is not a big deal. Ultimately the question should be "Is there a purpose for this cache to be here, other than to rack up some numbers?"

Just a quick note that SD is back up and running. It had washed down into the sinkhole/gully thing that has been growing in the area. I tried finding the container several times without success. Today when I went out to replace the container I saw where the rain had washed away yet more mud and the bottom of it was visible - sticking out of the mud. So the original container even came back. Now - who do I submit my laundry bill to - I am never going to get the clay off of my suit pants!
