Hey, don't laugh, but that's how a found a cache in downtown Chicago after the GPS would not settle down. I took the numbers and walked slowly north and south and then east and west until they matched, and it worked. FYI--it was GCJTHJ.

I have an Explorist 200. It deleted POIs on its own. I sent it back and they sent back a 200 with firmware version 2.1.25. So far so good. It was probably a firmware glitch. If you only do a few geocaches a week, it's fine. The map function is somewhat useless except when on an airplane. Then its cool to see where you are. All in all, I am happy with the 200, especially for the price.

My 200 kept losing POIs. I tried to call. I was on hold for over an hour and then a recorded message said they could not help me. I e-mailed and got an RMA and sent it in. They said it would be, at most, 3 weeks--it was 8 weeks and all they did was exchange it. The firmware was upgraded and it hasn't erased my POIs--yet. Remember, this is a French company.

Just go it back today. They sent me what looks like a refurbished unit. The firmware was upgraded from 2.1.13 to 2.1.25.

I had that problem, too. I finally got a response from Magellan and sent it back. I have not gotten it back yet, so I can't tell if the problem has been fixed or not. Also, I called the service number and was on hold for close to an hour and was then told that no one could help me.
