  4. I'm not sure what type of etrex you have. However I know on the Legend and the Vista use your toggle to go to Main Menu. Then go to MARK(ENTER). Then toggle to the Lat/Long(ENTER). This should bring it up so you can toggle over and enter the lat/long. You can then also toggle to the waypoint name and change the name if you choose, ect. After you have entered the Lat/Long toggle down to Goto(Enter). This will bring up your navigation screen which will have an arrow telling you the way and how far you are from the waypoint.

Hope this helps. I didn't ask before I started geocaching and went out and found my first 80 just walking till the coords matched up (I was also using a blazer12 which only has 2 decimal places). Then someone showed me the goto feature. It sure made it a lot easier. Probably too easy icon_wink.gif

Also I would highly suggest you use easygps to just download your waypoints to your gps. It takes about 2 minutes to download and setup, but will save you a lot of time in the future.

I found this one to be very amusing:

    Cache, Cache, Cache, Ca$h Cache

The CACHE is located on the bank of West CACHE Creek, just off CACHE Road, on the outskirts of the town of CACHE, Oklahoma. To keep up the word play, the CACHE is stocked with CA$H

  8. You need the serial(tracking) number to log you have the bug. To drop the bug off in a cache, you merely scroll to the bottom of the cache log page and you use the drop down menu to drop the bug off. If you don't have the Tbug anymore and didn't write the number down. I would suggest sending an email to the Tbug's owner. Explain what happened and I'm sure they'll send you the number. You can also watch the page where you dropped the bug off at, and email whoever picks it up. They should know from the log sheet that you did place it there.

You could be this guy. His cache has been around since 10/2001 and has only been found twice.

I see you have done alot in the area. I was wondering which ones you preferred or would recommend. We're staying 4 miles from Disneyworld so if anyone would like to recommend or plug their own cache in a 30 mile raidus of that area feel free to. I will be bringing a couple bugs with me to drop off in the area.

    Thanks,

  11. To all the cachers in the Orlando, FL area: I'm looking for caches in your area. I'm not planning on going to any of the Disney theme parks (doing Universal instead). However if it is outside the Disney theme parks I wouldn't mind going. I prefer if they weren't 50 miles away from Orlando, by them selves. However if there were a few in the area I would consider it. Also if anyone in the DFW area has a travel bug wanting to visit Mickey let me know.

    John

    Thanks in adavance...

Unfortunately the HackPack won't be able to make it. KASH has got a game that day. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from the geocache website, but didn't see any patches. Will these patches be available for purchase?

  14. Who out there knows if there is an easy way to delete all your waypoints at once. If this isn't possible, is there a way to delete everything (maps and all) to get the unit back to where it was when I bopught it.

    Thanks,

    John

Also, anyime you download maps, the existing maps stored in the Vista get overriden. That's normal.

How do you get to the map setup page?

Never mind I figured it out. Thanks

  16. I have a Garmin Vista. I had downloaded detailed maps on to it about a month ago. For some reason now the detailed streets aren't showing up. Does anyone know why this might of happened and how to fix it. Also does anyone know if I try downloading the maps again, will it just take up more space or overwrite the existing data?

    Thanks in advance.
