The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) was an American Civil War veteran’s organization for Union soldiers. Monuments for these veterans are found predominately in cemeteries. However, one may find them on courthouse lawns, town squares and other public domains. They range from sky reaching obelisks to simple cannons. Photo of monument will be required.

For those who enjoy the trek of American Civil War battlefields, I propose Waymarking “American Civil War Battlefield Monuments”. These monuments stand in testament to the gallantry, courage and sacrifice of the common Union and Confederate solder. Further, it would be neat to see an aerial view of the battlefield once coordinates are provided. Any thoughts on the proposal?

Can a gps help in the DC sniper case?
civilwarranger replied to civilwarranger's topic in General geocaching topics
Yes, you're right about the subject title. DC snipers were geocachers? I didn't mean that they were. Of course they're not. Oversight on my part. I will simply state that I hope that the law enforcement will find information on the gps that can help bring justice for the quote: victims and their grieving families . What information? I don't know. Thus the post. If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2? [This message was edited by civilwarranger on October 29, 2002 at 12:42 PM.] -

They did find a gps and I hope it contains some information that will help in the prosecution when this goes to trial. If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2? -
Law enforcement officers found a gps in the suspects car along with two-way radios. With this in hand, what information can law enforcement learn from it to help in prosecution? If any? Drought and the effects of it on the Fall leaves
civilwarranger replied to civilwarranger's topic in South and Southeast
Was in Asheville recently and regretfully the fall color was not seen by me. A little color on the trip to Johnson City, TN on HWY 23. The color is late this year indeed. If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2? -
