  1. Yeah, a lot has to do with your habits. I've watched people search for caches that I've already found and a lot of them never look above their heads. or in very obvious places. They go for the spts that they think should have a cache. Best place to hide is in plain sight.
  2. Thanks so much for that picture!!! When I saw it, I said... I'VE BEEN THERE. Then I realized I wasn't. I realized the playground I was at was 10X better. Yep, I completely forgot about this playground, I visited it when I was 8 years old and never went back. It's a 5 story playground castle, approximately 18 miles from me... I'm hiding a geocache next time I go up that way (I have an appointment there in about a month) I think it's going to be amazing... A nano cache, hidden on a 5 story castle, you'd never know what floor it's on, and it's a nano and could be anywhere. This is going to be a DEVILISH hide, I'll hide it insanely hard... This'll be my best cache yet!!!!!! B) B) What do you guys think? Any way to make it any harder? I'm aiming for a difficulty 5 cache. Take one of the bolts out, drill the hole a half inch deeper, drop in the nano and replace the bolt.
  3. I agree it ain't easy hanging around a little kids play area acting odd but is it really an issue where ya'll live? I have 2 kids and I'll only do a playground if they're with me and ya' know what? They're always the only kids there. The rest, I assume, are at home on their gaming systems or facebook crap wasting away. I have not seen ONE single kid, other then my own, at any playground visited yet.
  4. I fix all issues that I can when I come across them. Don't like it? Then keep your stuff looking good. I've had nothing but good responses from the owners. Now, if they don't start archiving those missing ones soon, I'm gonna' replace 'em too. Don't like it? Too bad.
  5. Search for online auctions in your area. Might be able to nab 5-20 for $5. Plus the auction's 10%.
  6. and here I thought you were just teasing everyone. Who knew?
  7. I DON'T SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS?!? ENLIGHTEN ME!
  8. The geo bug police will be coming for you... in black helicopters in the middle of the night..
  9. Whoops! Double post... please ignore. 1st time I ever did that.... getting old.
  10. Give 'em a bogus hint just to rile them up a bit more. The more they whine, the more bogus info.
  11. When I pick up a bug, I take it with me and dip it until I find a suitable place to drop it. If too long passes by, I drop it in a place I've already been that is the best I can do to help it along.
  12. That, that is how life is. More = better.
  13. I wouldn't worry about it in the least. People like that have sucky lives and so they feel empowered by the internet to be abusive to others. In reality they are totally harmless and usually bite a bullet unless they wisen up and seek help.
  14. I offer my kids, whoever finds the 1st five caches that day, gets to pick where we eat lunch. So, it takes swag right out of the issue.
  15. Look it up online here and try to find it from memory. No map, no GPS'r, no nuthin'. Cheapest way there is. Of course, I only average one a day but still...
  16. There is a point when you have crossed the line. Getting a tattoo for this 'sport' is it. Kind of like one of those freaks that go to the Star Trek conventions and lives their lives as Star Trek freakoids. Just my opinion of course.
  17. He/she dosen't maintain his/her caches and blames you? I found one yesterday that didn't have any kind of seal on it. I put in a new log sheet because then they cannot deny you the find but I ain't gonna' put a seal on too.... well I would of but my seals were either too big or too small. Since we've been getting all this extra rain this year, I've found a few logs lately that were drenched and you could not sign them, so I printed up a bunch of logs from the geo-university and swap wet for dry and then e-mail the CO's to come get their wet logs if they so desire. They've all respectfully declined to pick them up.
  18. My son and daughter give that UFO 2 thumbs up.
  19. Whatever you do, don't sneak out. You'll never regain their full trust.
  20. After reading a thread like this, life seems just so much better. Can't believe the 'issues' some people seem to have. If my daughter ever did something like this....
  21. Or when the weather changes, it'll stand out like a sore thumb.
  22. I'm with you. My vote would go to whoever didn't spam me.
  23. Don't forget glue. One of the best glues is made from animals.
  24. ... and? Discuss with them, their stealing habits and why they need to turn over a new leaf.
