Idea for a New type is Cache.....
A & J Tooling replied to delamaize's topic in General geocaching topics
Neat way to get the bugs there quicker but seems kind of like cheating to me. I thought the whole idea was for us to carry the bugs from cache to cache? -
How do I hide this cache in the woods?

I hate trying to get the nano log back inside. Whoever invented the nano needs to be shot. -
Geocachers are not nice people?

And if you cannot tell who the odd nutjob is, it's probably you. I'm not odd. Everyone else are the screwed up ones!!! I'm normal! -
Religious Proselytising in Caches

not exactly an appropriate example for this situation, you have the benefit of knowing already why you're avoiding those places/items, my crystal ball is not that advanced to tell me what's going to be in cache ...so you're telling me to stop caching and not to look at the stuff in the cache at all No, but maybe if you see a pamphlet that says "Why you should turn to Christ" in a cache and you're already annoyed, you could just not open it, read it, and get more annoyed, right? I still don't get the need to "do something" here. I really don't. I wish someone would clarify why there's some compulsion to "do something" in this case, and not just sign the log and move on. Hey now! No common sense allowed. This is a internet forum. An invention by those who like to argue. Most likely started by a wife.... did I just type that? Silly me. -

Every venue will always have the odd nutjob here or there. You just keep your distance from those. Of course I'd think twice about anything I heard in a Micky D's. -

I'm offended by Bed Bath and Beyond. You know what I do about it? I don't go there. I assume I wouldn't like Playgirl. What do I do about it? I don't read it (or look at the pictures). It ain't rocket science, people. You can only be offended by something if you make it your problem. -
Then watch some kid shows. There are a slew of awesome poems out there. Kinda' narrows the search spectrum on who is stealing your stuff.

Caches on your own property
A & J Tooling replied to _Wolverine's topic in General geocaching topics
Only 30 inches? Childs play. -
When I click on a cache for new ones hidden in my area, that map usually loads before anything else and I can decide if it is near me and worth the effort or just hit the back button 'cause it is too far away. That is the only reason I look at it.

I don't like nanos. I don't like to have to roll them back up and stuff them back in that tiny little top. I can not do it without cussing out the cache. So, I do not look for them. I attempt to avoid them. But I don't rant and rave about the people who placed them. I'm sure some people enjoy them or else there would be none. Some times you gotta' remember the game wasn't invented to please everyone in every situation. -
Handy items to bring when geocaching
A & J Tooling replied to _Wolverine's topic in General geocaching topics
It should include a 9 volt battery. There is a cache near here that I want to nab that requires one and it is sitting on my counter next to my key drawer. I've forgotten it for 4 days now. -

16 caches to go and I can start showing my hidden caches on my 85 acre parcel. I give ya'll permission to go there. Try to avoid the bears. Also, it is next to state land and the shooting is pretty extreme during any and all hunting seasons. I suggest you wear a lot of orange. I've been to 2 different caches on private property (houses). One got a favorite and the other, I'll take my family back to see the ship with the turret in the middle of the yard and then that one too will get a favorite. 2 great impressions so far. -
Or you can replace it and place a trail cam nearby and when you find out who did it, pay them a visit and introduce them to Mr. Baseball bat.

Different strokes and all that. Some people gotta' have those numbers. I'm happy with finding one a day.

Just hope that FTF dosen't mean something else to other people. Nothing worse then being misunderstood...

Maybe someone has given up the sport and passing on the equipment to someone you will use it. Maybe someone is deploying overseas or some such. If it is inside, it is there on purpose.

This is universal across all forums, so I'm guessing he already knows this. Unless it is a military forum. Then it means Observation Post. Just sayin'....

Why is it always the ants...
A & J Tooling replied to GOF and Bacall's topic in General geocaching topics
Yeah, that is why I don't care for Texas. Everything down there can hurt you. Up here, in the better part of the country, only thing to worry about is the cold.... and crime. -
Mods are slackin' today...

I refuse to believe you said that seriously. Why? There is one here that they did that to. It ain't a 5 either. Man, you guys got to lighten' up.
-
I've found them to be spoilers in finding the caches. Usually people don't think and take the picture very close to the GZ. Sometimes right on top of it. You just match up items in the picture to what is around you and you can find the cache. But as long as you just take a picture of the surronding area, I think it'd be okay.

No repellent, no waders and no GPS'r. Hardcore! Get those kids trained early! Of course, I'm a tad bit slower at finding them too. I use a sheet of bounce in my kids back pocket. It keeps the bugs away.
