  1. yes! I usually don't care for virts much, but this one is great!
  2. later on this summer, Inmywoods and I may plant one requiring a boat or at least a small raft as that's our fishing rig. Just got to figure on some things.
  3. Also congrats to grossi on her 1200th Find!
  4. Hey welcome ot the 4 digit club, tolmaus!
  5. Wow...approx. 140 caches in roughly a week! Congratsw on 3600 and 3700!!
  6. Yep. Did the climb in Sept 03. Not technical at all, but gaiters are mandatory. I'll need at least 4 qts of water due to the sweating machine I am. LOL. Also, if you wear contacts, you might consider wearing glasses for the day or do not forgot your goggles! My usual food system consists of one or two peanut butter sandwhiches with bacon bits (yes you read right!), maybe couple packages of cheese crackers or can of Pringles, couple candy bars or energy bars. Usually that's enough for me and I usually have food left over.
  7. It looks like Lajoie5 got her 1000th Find. Congrats Janna!
  8. It's shorter if you start at the parking spot for Crack of the Gods. Then it's perhaps 10 miles round trip -- you get all of the vertical with much less horizontal. (But don't go this week unless you take snow boots and an ice axe.) Cool...good to know. That first stretch on the PCT is really boring and you have to negotiate poison oak so next time I go up there, I'll do the Crack route.
  9. Wow. Inmywoods and I fouind the loc n lok. We thought that was funny since the cache page mentioned an ammo box. We'll go back to the lake and put our log in the real cache next time we are in the area which will be soon since we want to do some fishing.
  10. I think you've got GORGEous VIEW mixed up with another cache. It's a nice cache but definitely not in the same league as the others. I'll second the mentions of Crack of the Gods and Room with a View. Another good cache is Nightwalker. Blows away all other night caches in the area. Nope...I didn't. It's an excellent cache in my mind. Inmywoods got her 200th there. Maybe it doesn't compare to Room with a View or Crack of the Gods, but it still is worthy. I remember when I first discovered this spot, I was totally blown away.
  11. room with a view by NavDog (grossi said this one was a MUST DO) http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...1b-804609829e22 Hardy by Explosis http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...a8-49b628c6bfa1 table mountain by klossner http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...5a-e8a3392bbc91 Crack of the Gods http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...47-372984523e0f GorGEous VIEW http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...35-3eda02f9fe8a I've done Gorgeous View, Hardy. Heard good stuff about the others. Also you can look up Pipeline down by Hood River. All make good milestone caches. I've climbed Table before geocaching and it's a long haul about 18 miles RT or so. You can drive from the north for a shorter way, but I'm not familiar with that way.
  12. I just emailed Snohomish County parks about their 5-dollar parking fee program to see if they will be cancelling it or not. Inmywoods and I live near Kayak pt so we'll buy the annual pass if they aren't.
  13. Man, the old Mailbox is a favorite of mine! Just be sure to have trekking poles with you. It's a knee killer. Once I got the summit from the backside...I don't recommend that route though...forty-five degree slope with heavy brush. The trail is actually fairly good....just damned steep, but it does give you a break here and there with more level sections.
  14. alciato recently got his 1000th career find! Congrats and welcome to the 4-digit club!!
  15. Looks like a fun one to do! Though the though of going into tunnels on an active track doesn't seem too smart to me unless they are very short.
  16. I wasn't aware of that. Makes no difference anyway with me. I like the convenience of having the pass and not having to worry about buying a daily one.
  17. We don't live too far from Wenberg State Park. Glad the fee is gone. Now I can try fishing off the dock there. Good riddance to the fees! :-)
  18. Just noticed that teh Puppers recently hit 3600. Congrats to you guys!!
  19. Congrats to the Wienerdogs! Whatcha get 3500 on?
