  1. Good seeing you all today! Inmywoods, Cadbury and I had a great time tagging along.
  2. I'm game. Where at? Do you suppose Lake Serene/Bridal Falls is snow free yet? If last year's hike was any indication, Lake Serene will be snowbound. I'm actually trying to stay out of that realm this time. The warming weather along with the recent snow has already caused I-90 DOT to do avalanche control so I tend to pay heed. Scheduled for 3/16, Sunday, @ 9AM at the trailhead. There are five caches to be found here. Four of them must be found first in order to find the Woods Creek Bonus Cache. According to GeoRoo on the bonus cache, R/T hiking from the gate is about 4 miles if you do all 5 caches. Bookmarked as GeoRoo Skidoo this looks to be a fun series of caches GeoRoo has put together. If you want something warm to eat or drink, I will be bringing my stove. -=-=edited to add the mileage expected=-=- I've done all those, thinking I may tag along though...we love hikign around back there. I'll see if Inmywoods can go too.
  3. Been away from the box lately. Belated congrats to Rockitbiker and Moontaner for their respective milestones at my cache! Hard to believe it's been over 3 years I've been to that spot.
  4. Mt. Higgins had a bunch of blueberries last year when I did it. It's a tough climb up though! Speaking of blueberries, we've got some bushes on our property...quite a yield so far!!! It looks like we have at least two varieties of them so we'll have ripe berries going into the fall. Anyhow, Inmywoods has been making some delicious blueberry muffins, bread, and pies.
  5. Cool regarding the pictures. Are the log pics posted online? I wouldn't mind seeing mine again...think I found this one late August '02.
  6. Bummer. Inmywoods was to do that one this summer when we go down to Mt. St helens. It was a great cache. Oh well, still lot of other nice ones in the area.
  7. Kewl, count me in if you're hiking over here. I just got back from 4 days of backpacking on the Enchanted Valley trail. I saw five of these on my hike: great pics! Get those on long range zoom?
  8. Congrats to my sweetheart Inmywoods for finding her 500th cache today at Craft Island: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...3b-36a6517deeae
  9. congrats to Shark, LandRover, and jimmerbowl!
  10. Bleep! Figured it would be bad, but man that cancels some hikes I'd planned this summer. At least with Talapus lake, you can go in from Pratt lake trailhead. Tonga was a cool place that I was planning on taking Inmywoods to and we use the "Randle" road to white salmon to visit my grandparents. Babyshoe pass section is area I'm very familiar with...having spent most of my childhood camping all summer down there.
  11. Here's one not on the list...hid last year. Kendall katwalk...very cool spot! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...53-a2c1d97ff787 Click on nearest cacbes on the page, and you'll note another new cache down the PCT.
  12. You won't be too far from Bonaparte Lake (go to Tonasket and east on Highway 20). There is a resort that we used to rent a cabin for years for deer hunting which is pretty good...both mulies and whitetails. Our favorite mountain was Cumberland which sits above the lake. Also a forest service campground next to the resort. The fishign there can be very good for larger trout and kokanee. Also trailheads in the area...Mt. Bonaparte, etc.
  13. been out of the geo loop lately. Belated congrats to Grossi and GG! Also to RdR on getting 4 K!
  14. Huge Congrats to Prying Pandora on her 4000th Find!!! Thanks for choosing one of my caches!
  15. Congrats to Johnny Boy and DB Cooper
  16. Congrats on 400! Oh yeah, you may want to do this for another milestone as it fits your name(minus R): http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...23-069de6abf486
  17. This looks like fun...may try to make this and get some use out of my MSR Ascents if schedule allows.
  18. We got quite a bit of snow up here. Snowshoed out the quarter mile driveway for mail and went back via my new trail. Shot of front yard from the driveway: Shot from the fenceline...near where the trail comes out: Nice spot along the trail:
  19. Yeah, I've had a few cop encounters in my time. One was going for a FTF in the Redmond area at night in an neighborhood setting. Got checked on by 4 of 'em. Once they found out what I was doing, they just told me to go home, though they did say you can check that rock down there. AFter that, I lost mky interest in going after FTFs at night, especially in neighborhood settings. Another time, in Edmonds, I was looking for an evil micro right by ferry and the cop asked me what I was doing. I told him geocaching and he really became interested, but we had to cut it short as he had to direct traffic. I did eventually find the cache that day.
  20. yeah, that one looks like a fun one! I like the cat pic!
