  1. I have one! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...2d-b7189ae34b72
  2. NPS forbids caching on park land, why are you surprised they want the illegal caches pulled? I do not agree with the NPS, but their policy is well known.
  3. sorry about the meat thing, my bad! No wonder no one plays scrabble with me
  4. well, I went back and looked myself, and your right, i think a got my timeing wrong. That wasnt really the point, my point was I think these forums are kinda harsh and unfreindly. Thats just my opinion. Im was just stating my point of view, which may vary from yours. I have read many of your posts, and agreed with most. You have more forums posts than I ever will, and are much more skilled here than I will ever be. Hope to meat you on the trail someday, we'll go have a beer over lunch.
  5. Me and Wimseyguy go way way way back, we cool! This is the most fun I've had in the forums for awhile, I think my skin must be thickening. Ya'll play nice now!
  6. yep, those were the ones. I was very new, and admittedly foolish. I play here to have fun, and that wasnt fun for me, so I bugged out.
  7. I'm a lurker with a couple of finds, and I find these forums to be less than friendly. In my limited experience, most topics are just some variant of either micros suck, logging issues, or angst filled rants. I belong to several fishing forums, and they do not seem to have the aggressive attitude I see here. Several people jumped all over me during my first visits here, and frankly it turned me off to this part of the sport. This is just my opinion, and not meant as fuel to any current fires. Now I'm gonna put my fire suit on and await the hilarity that I'm sure will ensure
  8. having spent time fighting naked klingons with the coin owner, I've got to have one of these!
  9. broke arm, but then hiked .3 miles and found the cache
  10. Id like the USA 2006, if you still have it
  11. You're not a geocacher unless....you have been brought to a cool spot you never knew about before and had fun finding a cache of any type.
  12. Good lord, no! You're going to have to try a lot harder to upset me. I've put on a lot of weight in the last ten years and I'm really embarrassed about it; you could try starting there. I'm glad we are cool, my Forum-Fu is weak, and I am unskilled newbie. I will read and learn and try to improve. I'm better at this kinda stuff in a bar over a beer or two.
  13. You can remove those from consideration right off the bat. They don't have the requisite micro spew. It was a snide reference to what seems to be the fact that an area will only be considered if it has a super high cache density. If attendees can't nab 200-300 caches in 24 hours, you need not apply. OK, I see what you mean. The group I travel with enjoys the high density areas, but not for any type of records thing. Over the last several years, we take a 4 or 5 day trip once a year with the intent to go "binge caching." We run from about 7 am to about 3 am, for 4 or 5 days. We realize this is not everyones cup of chowder, but it is fun for us. We try to mix it up and not just hit parking lots. One of the things we liked about Texas was we only saw like 2 bison tubes in 5 days. GW3 also had very unique and clever hides, and alot of them. I think the high density is a draw to alot of folks. It nice to have for the folks who like to go all day and night, and those who would rather socialize can do that too.
  14. i saw this one at GW4, i like it! I'm in!
  15. You can remove those from consideration right off the bat. They don't have the requisite micro spew. Why would you inject such a snide comment into a thread like this? What purpose does it serve to the topic?
  16. If that's such great advice, why don't you take it? The point clearly hasn't been made, because them they didn't get it still haven't got it. Perhaps they're lost causes, but never mind. You know why you beat a dead horse? So all the other horses think, "whoa! I don't think I want me any of that, if I can help it." I have not been able to take it because I have been logging finds from our run to GW4 As far as number padding goes, I can't agree with you more that is is just not right. Are those who do it lost causes? Probabaly are. You either have the ethics to play nice or you don't. One of the cool things in our game is that it self corrects without outside influence. Folks who inflate there numbers get caught, and then get a reputation for pumping up there finds. We had a local cacher who really did some silly things to pump up their find count. We all know about it, and no one takes this users finds total seriously. The really scary part, to me, is how polarizing this issue has been to folks. It worries me to see the amount of anger and unpleasantness in these threads. In the end, it is still a game, something I do for fun. I hope I did not upset you AuntieWeasel, I have always enjoyed reading your posts.
  17. how long is this dead horse gonna be beaten? The point has been made. I was there, I saw it, I was not impressed. It has be hashed and re-hashed a gazillion times. Time to let it go. Take a deep breath, back slowly out of the forums, and take nice walk in the woods to a cache. Trust me, you will feel better almost instantly.
  18. after that pic, I may need to add a couple of degrees of seperation
  19. I had fun!!!! Tell your good experiences here. To me, this is really what it is all about. Despite the angst that has come up, the event was a blast. Thanks to the Texas folks who hosted! One of my favorite memories was hooking up with the NEFGA folks and hiking across the bridge in the dark. It was great to stroll and chat with other cachers.
  20. Maybe I am still woozy with blood loss from stompin through the mesquite, but I can't seem to get the code for my GW4 coin. Any help? I logged onto the Texas site, but it is asking for a number only, and all I have is the GC number. Thanks for any help! Fishingfools
  21. i got mine, HextheKiwi and family are great folks, what's 4 bucks between friends
