  2. wonderful. i really hate that kind of crap. guess ill relocate it to the other side of the river, but until they finish the columbia st. bridge it wont be easily accessible. i didnt think my coordinates would be THAT far off... i still dont know where #3 will be going... 5. i fought a war of wits with a nest of bees trying to get to where i thought a cache was, it turns out i didnt even have to mess with them as i was in the wrong area. [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  6. so someone from that north-central indiana cache needs to come down to fort wayne and grab one of ours here. that would fill that gap between the red and orange chains. [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  7. why just central indiana? fort wayne always seems to get ignored... [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]

  9. better break out your gear fuzzman, i figured today was as good a day as any to hide my next cache. just dont fall in the river. [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  10. !!!! very very cool, that picture of "culvert #1" is the area i mentioned in that last post. a friend and i ran across that thing on accident, which led us to investigate (by calling 1st brooks construction who built it) and learning of robinson park. actually, thats where we spent an hour trying to open a manhole. theres pipes coming out of that sidewall and into the water, with a manhole about 5 feet back along the line from the wall. 11. you wanna see some amazing pics, check out my friend Panic's site at www.urbanadventure.org im gonna hafta make it to austrailia some day just to see some of those places anyway, you make an interesting point, ive been considering running a site where anyone can log in and post pics of cool places for others to ooh and ahh over, i wonder if it would work well or if it would go largely ignored. 12. oh very very cool link. i never knew about robinson park myself until my friend and i stumbled across an area (thats behind the housing addition ) that has some 1918 dated construction markings. i wont say too much because thats where i plan on locating this cache, but its a nifty area. my friends and i spent an hour out there one day trying to open a manhole next to it, failed miserably and got eaten by mosquitos. anyway, what is this feeder dam you mention mmm? it sounds interesting, im always interested in some new bit of urban decay to look at and get pictures of. 14. well, i accidently looked at the pictures for the cash cache a while back and i know exactly where its located. in fact i have a picture on my system of me and some friends standing almost right on top of it last summer, we were watching that nifty building spew water into the river. that aboite cache is one of my favorites around here now. its rather difficult to puzzle out (if you suck at math like me) and just a creative departure from the usual follow-the-gps. i just realized i never did answer the topics question, i personally would prefer an intelligently challenging cache, requiring research or wits to figure out, rather then just poking in and under every tree in a 30 foot marking zone. i also appreciate a cache that shows you something youve never seen before or teaches you an interesting history lesson. im planning a couple future caches that i plan to locate near areas that most fort wayners never notice, or have simply never heard about. did you know we used to have an amusement park? *hint hint* [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  15. ahhh fuzzman, im looking forward to your hard multi-cache. the only reason ive never gone after the cash cache also is i dont really want to drive the 25 miles. its a shame you got the inside information on my cache or you could challenge yourself with that. 16. we have a tipton county in indiana? i was driving back to orlando once, and right south of atlanta is a place called tipton georgia. what cracks me up is the big billboard along the side of the road announcing "Tipton GA, the turf grass capitol of the world" some bragging rights [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  17. ohhhh yeah, now lets combine geocaching with my other hobbym urban exploration. im down. as for that GM plant in flint, thanks for the heads up. im very very tempted to get my crew together and drive up to explore that, sounds like an urban explorers dream. ive got a series of caches planned here for urban or abandoned areas, i just havent gotten around to planting them yet. as for urban exploration pics, i guess i should plug my website. 403 Forbidden i know theres alot of broken images and links, its sort of in a period of readjustment, i need to finish fixing the new design. 18. Id be interested heh [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  19. !!! i want geocaching icons on my emap...i usually use man overboard [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  20. Heres a strange use for GPS. When i was working for bellsouth installing cellular equipment, we snuck into a nextel shed to check out the other services equipment. I was sort of baffled to find that each nextel cellular tower has a GPS antenna and reciever attached on the side of the tower. I still have no idea why they do this, do they really expect their 300 foot tall metal pole to someday get up and walk off? [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  21. Im suprised nobody else had my answer, for work. I was working for bellsouth mobility in orlando installing equipment under cellular towers. Of course the directions to a cell site were usually somewhere between barely followable and pointedly wrong. So i went down to the local best buy and picked up a garmin because our site location books had lat&lon coordinates. Plug em in, and track to the tower, much nicer then driving around, and occasionally into dangerous areas. [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
  22. spooky experiences? oh ive had plenty, just none on a cache run yet. heres about the wierdest ever for me so far 403, pook road section [Episkipos Enos Shenk, KSC] [403forbidden.urbanexploration.org]
