  1. Thanks HLQ. Based on your stats, I'd say you are off to a good start in the sport of geocaching.
  2. Thanks for the converter link. It works nicely. Vixy.net was able to convert a video that keepvid.com was not. The only problem was that I had to keep retrying because it kept saying the network was busy. It's always nice to have another option.
  3. Thanks Ambrosia. Peace and health to you my fellow Washingtonian.
  4. Let me start by saying I really like the new look. Now for the problem I ran into right off the bat: When I went to print out the Cache info/log pages they no longer conform to an 8 1/2" x 11" page format. The content is way to wide to fit on a normal page (even with a Landscape setting) and therefore it truncates and many words end up getting cut off. FYI - I actually do paperless caching and I always create a pdf version of the printout (using pdf995 software). Whether it be a regular paper printout or an electronic pdf of the paper printout, the formatting is just not right. As for the pdf print function on the cache page (No logs, 5 logs, 10 logs) it produces a very strange graphical format that does not display on my PDA. Besides that, I prefer to have all logs included. This is why I just do a regular printout and convert it to pdf. Yikes! Please fix this ASAP! I need my printouts! I can't live without them! Help!
  5. Welcome to a whole new world of fun!
  6. For anyone who is interested, I found a website that provides a tool for downloading YouTube videos. Visit http://keepvid.com .
  7. That is what it is really good for. The grandparents cant really figure out the net or have the right speed for Youtube. I just need to figure out how to convert from .flv so i can put it on a CD for them.... Perhaps you could leave it in the .flv format and just download a free .flv player such as Wimpy Flash Player from http://www.wimpyplayer.com. It always seems i have such a hard time playing .flv files. My thinking is that most relatives wont have a .flv player on their PC. Ideally i would like to put this on DVD or CD that can be viewed on their DVD players along with out family pictures. If .divx wont work then some sort of .mpg probably will. Anyway, there are plenty of online flv converters. They work but i hate the quality. You take what you can get i guess. Happy caching! Would you be able to work with a .wvm file if I can a figure out a way to get it to you?

  15. Hello, we are new to geocaching. We just purchased an E-Trex Hcx and are wondering what maps should we purchase for geocaching. On our unit, the map that is on is the America's Rec Maps. Thanks for your help. Bruce I did fine geocaching with just the base maps that came pre-loaded on my GPSMAP 60CS receiver. Eventually I purchased Garmin City Navigator North America v.8 . I found I needed more map help getting to a destination than I did once I got there. At that point, I pretty much just followed the arrow. However, someday I do hope to purchase the Topographic maps as well. Topo includes trail maps which can be helpful when a geocache is hidden in the middle of a big trail system. Perhaps you should post this as a separate question on the forum. You will probably get a lot more opinions.
  16. Thanks for the positive feedback. I did get an A+, now that you mention it.
  17. Yes. I created it in fulfillment of an assignment for my Digital AV class.
