Trying to download waypoints to a new Explorist 500. I use a Garmin LegendC, so flying blind here. Does Explorist 500 use Easy GPS? If so, what do we select, as the explorist 500 isn't listed as an option. Thanks!

Mine came with a cd and loading it into my computer was simple and easy - followed the directions and was able to download waypoints with no problem. Is your a Legend C? If so, you need to go back to the store where you purchased it and tell them you need the cd. It should also have come with the usb cord...

OK, OK - we're hooked! We spent the day searching for caches - found all we searched for, a total of 8...6 regular and 2 virtual. What fun! Thanks for your help in getting us started!

I did it - bought the Garmin etrex Legend C last night. Now I just have to learn how to use it! And I need to get a good mapping software, right? I'm looking into that now...hope to be searching for my first cache later today!

I have just discovered this game of geocaching and it looks so cool! I really want to get started, but need a little clarification. Can you help? I know I need to buy a GPS and I have seen lots of info on choosing one. Once I buy that (and maps, etc.) is that the extent of the cost. other than my travel? Or will I need to subscribe to a satellite service as well? What else do I need to know? Sorry for my ignorance...I'll be up to speed soon! Thanks for your help!
