  1. Correct, if you want to keep the paperless options you have to enter it manually. It's a pity you can't 'link' waypoints with multicaches
  2. +1 on GSAK. Once you have got the hang if it then you will wonder how you managed without it!But I prefer OS maps as generally I cache in the country and find the detail helpful. But what you can do is have both maps on the GPSr. I use OS on the geocaching profile and Talkytoaster (OSM) on the automotive profile as they are routeable
  3. Not sure what you mean as I just downloaded the track and viewed it ok as a GPX file??
  4. But you will need to get permission.... http://www.geosociety.org/earthcache/faq.htm
  5. You should be able to download your route here (Not sure how long it will stay there though.) Basically you save the route from google as a KML file and convert it here
  6. Connect with your PC (or Mac) and just clear out any .gpx files in the \Garmin\GPX folder, then reboot the unit
  7. You can always edit the fieldnotes you have uploaded on the website before you submit them......
  8. http://www.gpsfix.ne...ulticache-beta/ The same is true of the new etrex range AFAIK. This is only really useful if you don't know the co-ordinates of the next point until you reach the first waypoint. You can select the waypoint (where to> waypoint ) to go to the next waypoint, but you will lose the paperless options on the cache
  9. All done from http://www.geocaching.com/my/fieldnotes.aspx

    PQs

Once you put them on your GPSr then you can list then in distance order etc. One thing which is confusing, you say you have created a PQ...but you are not a PM??
  11. It's fine...just a case of waiting
  12. Connect it to to a PC Navigate to \Garmin\GPX\ Delete all the .GPX files Reboot unit Job done
  13. To sum up my choice of buying an Oregon 450 (although others may differ!) GSMAP 62...screen too small Montanna...Too big/heavy (and a bit pricey) So the one in the middle was the Oregon, which I've been very happy with. To be honest I don't find reading the screen that difficult in sunlight...but I live in England so don't have much experience of it
  14. This might be worth a read You need to check if there is a GAGB agreement really.
  15. Also you may need to remove any GPX files you put on the unit before you were a PM. We really need more info!!
  16. If you want free then you can't beat OSM, via talkytoaster
  17. Where did you get the map from? Have you looked here?
  18. http://garmincolorad...m/Miscellaneous M11 and M12 EDIT: Oops...didn't see the post above!!
  19. I'm not the only one then!! I've a 300 (with latest FW) which I my step-son uses, and also use GSAK. It's just one of those things you get used to, and like you once I've rebooted a second time the unit is fine.
  20. Even though you upgraded the firmware this probably won't afftect the GPX files loaded. Remember that when the unit boots it checks the GPX file you have loaded, if it's the same as last time then it won't load anything into it's memory. Deleting the GPX will mean that it will clear the memory as there is nothing to load, when you put the GPX file back on it will reload the info into the internal memory. I've seen the problem you have on both my Colorado and Oregon where it's only when you look at the cache details it locks up. Every time it's the GPX file.... Have you a GC number for the affected caches?
  21. And also remember the explorist gC can hold a maxiumum of 10000 caches. One option would be to put the GPX files on a couple of SD cards, one for North the other South. How you would work out the PQ area is another matter!!
  22. Evil?? One I found (FTF ) was a nano in the end of a pine cone. Nothing unusual about that as we had found quite a few similar......but this one was randomly dropped under a couple of pine trees and there were thousands scattered about!
  23. I have GSAK sent the last 10 logs to mine, so it's not a log size issue. 95% of 'locking up' issues are down to a dodgy GPX file, try deleting it, rebooting, and then putting another GPX file on.
