  1. What's wrong with a flask? Yuk!!! Tea needs to be made fresh with boiling water
  2. If you plan to place another cache then why not edit and reuse the listing? Depending on the circumstances the cache type may/may not be changed though.
  3. I'm on the border of number 70 and 62...
  4. Sounds like a dodgy screen or the connection to it. In my experience (not with an Oregon I might add) you will either need to return it or get a replacement screen.
  5. I'm pretty sure the reviewer notes are hidden from anyone except reviewers when the cache is published. If you notice when you enable a cache it puts the original co-ordinates in a reviewer note, I guess it;s so they can refer to them later
  6. Have you tried deleting the GPX file and creating a new one? Most lockup issues when viewing caches are due to problems with GPX files....
  7. mmm...never knew it changed....that's one cache I was thinking of placing which has now bitten the dust (no pun intended!)
  8. You will also be able to do much more with GSAK once you discover macros Photos/attributes etc can all be sent to your GPSr with GSAK. Like you I run a few PQ's during the week and keep my local (well 60 mile radius) caches updated, then send 5000 to the GPSr when I go out caching.
  9. The more you find the easier it will get as you will develop a 'cachers eye'. Often when you approach GZ your mind will say "I'd hide it here" and quite often it's is!!
  10. I'd put a GPSr and some spare batteries in the bag!!
  11. If you do get a 62 make sure it's at least a 62S as it has a 3 axis compass.

    Missing TB

Sent some messages....now have to wait to find out what happens!

    Missing TB

The TB was dropped in the cache on March 10th which was the last log for it, there is a cache log from 10th July which says "didn't have a tracable inside". I know often email addresses change or are incorrect, but worth a shot?

    Missing TB

One of my TB's was dropped in a cache in Ireland about six months ago, but a log from July says it's not there It's only been visited a dozen times, often by cachers with low finds, so the question is do I contact the cachers with a polite note?
  15. Did you unzip the file? Also put it in the \Garmin\GPX\ folder?
  16. Not aware they have major problems...although I've a 450. Do you use the topo maps? There are a lot better free maps available for Garmin's so it will save you a bit of cash not getting a 'T'
  17. She hasn't logged in for over two years...so unless they rediscover caching it looks like your TB is lost
  18. Drop them a message asking them to drop them in the cache, so you can retrieve them. Failing that give it a little while then grab them, then they will be in your possession.
  19. The problem is that most satnavs try to lock your position onto the road (for obvious reasons). If there is an option to turn it off then it you will be a lot closer to the cache
  20. Garmin Adventures...haven't they heard of the 'success' of Wherigo? Pity as I like the idea of Wherigo, but it seems to be in serious decline.....
  21. Treat them with caution, though... I recently loaded them on my 60CSx when I went to Jersey as my normally used Garmin Topo maps don't cover the Channel Islands. The route they chose to take to reach a cache just a couple of miles away tried to take me 3 miles along the north coast footpath and across a field before getting back on to public roads!! Agreed as they are only as good as the person who updated the OSM, sometimes they don't connect roads correctly so it tries to take you the long way. Had this the other day, instead of turning right and going 100 yards to the destination it went about a mile around it and approached it the other way.....I turned right though
  22. Looks like he has associated .zip files with Acrobat for some reason. Have a read here.
