  1. Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  2. I tend to judge others by the validity or idiocy of their comments. If a 0/0 that had years of outdoor experience were to comment on hiking boots for example, I would probably think they had a good basis for the comment. Likewise, if a city cacher 20/20 were to do the same I would wonder. Dave We go until we get there.....
  3. GPSr's don't emit any radio waves. They are strictly passive receivers. Dave We go until we get there.....
  4. My attempt at linking Quartz Cache failed, so I will try again! QUARTZ CACHE Dave We go until we get there.....
  5. My first cache is still going strong. Quartz Cache has only had 21 logged visits, so maybe its remoteness is its saving grace. Dave We go until we get there.....
  6. What do you call a man with no arms and no legs in a mailbox? Bill What do you call a man with no arms and no legs in a hot tub? Stew What do you call a man with no arms and no legs in a meat grinder? Chuck What do you call a man with no arms and no legs under a car? Jack And my personal ROFL favorite....What do you call a man with no arms and no legs in a pile of leaves? Russell Grins, Dave We go until we get there.....
  7. I am sure that many of you are taking PDA's with you that have numerous cache pages downloaded. It seems much more logical than taking a notebook of printed pages. What software do I need to accomplish this? Any feedback on what works best and what doesn't would be good too. Thanks! We go until we get there.....
  8. We are 45, 39 and 13. The 3 dogs are old! We go until we get there.....
  9. I was almost to the top of a local mountain in search of a cache when a foul stench stopped me in my tracks. A few feet to my side was a vertical mineshaft. Looking in, I saw it was partially collapsed about 15 feet down, and there in the shaft was a decomposing deer. Poor doe must have slipped into the shaft and died of starvation. 10. Think how many caches you could have visited in all the time some of you wasted typing long-winded verbal vomit about the WAY, or the TONE in which a question was asked!!! Back off, go outside, and relax....This poll is not that important! Dave We go until we get there.....

  13. It definately depends on where I am going. Anytime I am out in remote areas by myself, I carry a .357 with me. If a whole gang is along, or we have the dogs with us, I usually leave it in the jeep. Dave We go until we get there.....

  17. Last Christmas I had the pleasure of exposing my brother to geocaching. He has since purchased a GPSR and cache hunting in his part of the country. The search feature I would like to see is What caches has another player found or hidden? It would be really neat to check on the progress of others! Dave We go until we get there.....

  21. I have a Garmin 12, and sadly enough it is not possible to get it to show distance in feet...howerver by changing to Km instead of miles, you can get it down to .01Km which is easy to convert...10 meters = 39ft. ~Dave
  22. I have an old Garmin 12, and it has been woderful. Yes it takes 4 batteries, and has a small screen, and is monochrome.....but the facts are that it leads me right to most caches, and can store enough waypoints to satisfy my needs. Someday I may get something different, but not in the near future! ~Dave
