  1. Hey Arizona cache hunters, there is going to be an event that the organizer is calling "Cache Clash" on May 7,2005 just north of Phoenix. Check it out at: [link removed by moderator] Looks like a lot of fun.

  3. Prescott Area Volunteers Needed!! If you would like to help with an adventure race on Sept. 20th, 2003 please e-mail dsewell@cableone.netTeam Finn. Thank you! Team Finn Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  4. If we don't get some more moisture, it looks like the National Forests are going to be closed for a good portion of the summer again this year. Get out there while you can, and remember, TRASH OUT! We can really make a difference in the way our forests look. We took a huge bag of trash out of Fossil Springs this weekend. Happy cachin', Team Finn Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  5. Zombo and Homestar are both bizarre. I like them. Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  6. you missed more than just #8 then, there were 10 episodes of Taken! Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  7. Here's a bummer. I recorded the Taken mini-series in December, and finally got around to watching it this weekend. I sit through 7 episodes only to find out that I somehow missed recording episode #8! Did anyone out there record it by chance? Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  8. You can reach quite a few AZ cachers by posting to the Arizona Thread in the Southwest regional forum as well. Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  9. I think that is a great hiding spot. Like many above have said, when you get to a cache and think it is too dangerous for you to attempt it, just don't do it! Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  10. We love the hunting and the thrill of the find. We also love the fact that caching has taken us to some very out of the ordinary locations. We love the opportunity to spend some great family time together. Team Finn Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  11. While Mobi makes it easy to get the info onto your PDA, finding what you are looking for out in the field can be a real pain. I have recently switched to Plucker. I first use Spinner to turn gpx files into something Plucker can read. Then download it to my PC, then load it into the PDA. This is a little more time consuming than the Mobi method, but once you have the info on the PDA, Plucker is much more user friendly than Mobi. There are several threads with links to Spinner and Plucker, so just search and find. Good Luck, Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  12. quote:Originally posted by Lazyboy & Mitey Mite:Tell the truth, show them a printout and things usually go well. I've done this also in the middle of a downtown parking lot. To a cop. He also thought it was great and helped me look for the cache. Actually, We agree, tell the truth! Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  13. you're either watering them too much, or planting them too far apart! Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  14. Just wanted to start an Arizona presence in this Forum area. We have been caching for almost 2 years now, and would like to recognize the AZ cachers that have either posted finds on our caches or that have hidden the caches we have found. It is great to see people that don't know each other go out of their way to be helpful and courteous in their words and actions. Thank you for leading us to some spectacular places we would probably never have been. Thank you for continuing to trade up so the caches contain more than old golf balls and Mctoys. Now that we have a thread for and about Arizona Caching, let's use it! Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  15. and whatever you do, DO NOT think of a red corvette. Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  16. usually has a stated accuracy of about 13-15ft. Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  17. I just received Terrain Navigator 2002 by Maptech as a gift. I have not opened or installed it yet, because I want to know if anyone out there has any feedback on it. Thanks, Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  18. It is always sad to lose a pet, and we feel your pain. Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  19. Man...you've got some weird phone numbers in Memphis! Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  20. back in 1982, some friends and I went innertubing down the Deleware River. I was wearing only cut-offs and a straw hat, and Huckelberry just didn't fit. Since then, my wife and son have joined me in caching making us a Team. Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  21. We just returned from a road trip in our '97 F-150, and the GPSr was dead on! We tried it against our speedometer, and also against the mile markers (you know, 60 seconds per mile is sixty miles per hour). We use an old Garmin 12, and are very happy with it's accuracy. Dave and Tracie Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  22. A friend taught me to fly in 152's and his 172 Cutlass RG. I flew enough to get my single engine VFR license, and haven't flown since. It's just too expensive for me. But if I'm ever on a plane and the pilot and co-pilot both die, I might be able to crash it with more control than the average joe! Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  23. A couple of years ago I too got a GPSr for Christmas, and did exactly what you are asking about! I was all fired up to hide a cache, so I went out and did it....problem being that I had NO caching experience under my belt. To make a long story short, I messed it up and would highly recommend that you do as suggested by the previous posts and go on some hunts first. Make mental (or written) notes of what you like and don't like about each cache. This will help you make a cache others will enjoy. Welcome to the game!! Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
  24. The site that Tahosa suggested should answer all your questions, it is clear and concise. Thanks Tahosa I bookmarked it too! Dave Me ambivalent? Well..... yes and no.
