  1. I don't know much about the internal working of geocaching.com but, I always thought that it was pretty much based out of the Northwest. Missouri???? Got me.
  2. Good luck to you guys. I'm anxious to see what may reside in the lock box. Will definatly be watching this thread.
  3. I completely agree that if everybody traded up to increase the value of the cache items that things would be better. I'm not expecting to find brand new DVDs or keys to a nearby BMW. Just something remotely useful. I just thought if I said something about this it might help the sitsuation. I traded a brand new in the package emergency blanket for a key chain that said, "Be all you can be" on it and on the other side it had a picture of a hummer.
  4. The Hummer key chain is what I traded for.
  5. It was the Camp Adair cache. I thought about what eraseek said about just writing in the log book and not trading. I think thats what I will do if there is just garbage in the cache from now on. By the way, I want it to be known that this cache belongs to chubby forest monkey and I don't want this to be any reflection on him or his caches. I have hunted several of his caches and all his other caches I have found have had some neat stuff in them and he keeps them well maintained.
  6. I have been caching for about a year and a half now I think. One thing that I have noticed is that the cache contents are becoming more and more useless, at least in my area (Polk County general area). I realize that real prize is finding the cache itself, but I am finding caches that are filled with nothing more than junk. For instance I found a cache today that consisted of an empty contact case, a canister (half empty) of fish food, a tacky necklace that said "pet me" on it, an old beat up hand held cassette recorder and a hummer key chain. I know that when most caches are placed they are filled with nice or interesting items to pick from and I try to trade equally or trade down. But when some people trade say, a half empty canister of fish food for a decent compass or something it kinda screws the next guy that comes along. OK I'm done....
  7. I would love to get in on something like this in Salem area if there is PBR involved. I haven't had that in a long time.
  8. Its good to see we are slowly gaining support from the people we need it from...
  9. Sorry you guys didn't get any takers. I was planning on showing up, but some things came up and I couldn't make it. Sorry
  10. I would be interested to know why this guy is leaving his card in caches.
