Useful to know! That's my Plan B now. Really easy to do but you must be careful not to glue the buttons most people use photo mounting tape, using superglue will glue the two halves of the unit together

"You can park in the pay and display carpark <coordinates, attribute> or there is limited on-street parking available in Exmoor Street <coordinates>. You can also park at the pub <coordinates> but may get clamped if you don't buy something." or you can just provide advice on the best locations to park; "You can park in the pay and display carpark <coodinates, attribute> or there is limited on-street parking available in Exmoor Street <coordinates>." Which again feeds back into the question of what's most useful to someone driving around looking for where to park their car. On foot it's nice and easy - "the trail starts behind the pub" works fine because I can take my time to look for it. If I'm driving through an unfamiliar area looking for the recommended parking which could be anything from a small layby to a multistorey car park, I'd rather have some text that says "park in the NCP for £5" or "don't park at the Red Lion because they have clampers" so that from behind the wheel I can see at a glance where I'm going. If I've got two or three waypoints in the GPS that's much more fiddly to deal with on the move, even before considering the legal implications of using a hand held device while driving. Yes, "don't park at the pub at Nxx.... Wxx...." goes part way, I'd just rather pay more attention to the road than dealing with ambiguity added apparently to make a point more than anything else. Especially when, as has been pointed out many times already, an event cache can be "held at the Red Lion" and people are positively encouraged to look at the menu and told about the fine range of real ales on offer. If we can do that for an event cache how does "don't park at the Red Lion" suddenly register a cache as commercial? easily solved, walk its better for the environment, you don't have to look for somewhere to park the car

With respect, why is it such a big deal mentioning the name of a pub that's near to a caching circuit when it's fine to say a cache requires the use of Garmin ® Chirp devices? The former provides a simple piece of information that if you're in the area, if you ran out of water, if you fancy a bite to eat or a beer, here's a place you might stop (other watering holes may be available). The latter provides a restriction that if you want to find it you need a Garmin unit. why do you need the name, keep your eyes open for the local pub along the way -
I think some need to explain bugs and coins to him and that you collect them by buying them I don't think Groundspeaks collection terms help

Heard of Stalybridge never been there but will be going to either the Chorley or Warrington meets both of which are in my diary. -I think the Chorley one and Leyland are the same meet depending on how you look at the map. (GC2K978) is meaningless to me at the moment though. try this pageGC2K978

I agree with you, should at least be a photo of a gps at the location, surely nobody can object to their hand being photographed

I'm not sure what has changed. It looks the same to me, with some cosmetic changes. Hopefully they have also changed it over to a database engine with more grunt to end the dreaded mysql timeouts. I'm not actually quoting the above comments I just wanted to see what it looks like when you quote a post that has a quote in it. I quite like the different colours of quotes. I think previous quotes before the upgrade don't look like this though. Yay! Appears sorted - am liking the colours.... Now the critical stuff that we all need to know: How many quotes (and how many different colours) within quotes before it gets borked? MrsB whos been sick? -
I'd agree with that

oh so if you want to place a cache now you just move one that may be in the way so you can place your own is this another new rule?
