  1. ok, now it's displaying correct. must be the 3rd times's the charm. once again I deleted my GPX files and inserted her's, deleteted the visit text file, powered off the unit, yanked the battery, then powered it back up, everything is fine. I believe it was the visit text file as Bear and Ragged suggested. Thank you very much for the help, it was greatly appreciated.
  2. I just deleted the gpx files from her pq, and added the gpx files from a pq i just ran on my account and it displays correct.
  3. In a nutshell i was trying to remove my PQ and add hers. The PQ is displaying found caches and shouldn't be, she just selected caches she hasn't found for the PQ. I tried deleting the visits text file, all that did was reset my map settings for zoom levels etc.
  4. So I just upgraded my GF's account to premium so she can run PQ's and go find the caches that I've already found. she ran a PQ and other than location, only specified "catches I haven't found". I cleared out the GPX files on my Garmin Montana and copied the GPX files from her PQ onto the unit. powered it back on and on the map a whole bunch of found geocaches are being displayed, more than she has found. I ran the pocket query again and only specified caches she hasn't found. cleared out the old GPX files, copied the new ones, same result. I previewed the PQ search and it's correct, so I have no ideas left. any help would be much appreciated.
  5. just got my first nuvi. driving around today i noticed that poi's are not showing up when i am in close proximity. i had my Vista C in teh car with me also and it was displaying the factory Garmin poi's, but not on the nuvi. is there a feture i didn't see that need to be enabled? i switched the map detail to "most" still nothing. i loaded a few custom poi files, Walmarts, boat ramps, etc, but i wasnt in any proximity to see any of the custom poi's come up either. any help would be much appreciated
  6. there will always be people that are all about the numbers. just look at the stats 3000 traditonal caches and like 50 multi's, i mean a park and grab is one thing, but i don't plan a whole caching roadtrip around them
  7. wow, thought i was the odd man out with a clie sony clie nz-90 cachemate gsak
  8. plus i thought if there was a review section people might be more inclined to wite a review of some product they just purchased or have been using for a long time
  9. just takes alot of time when i search for some type of product review, thought maybe it would take less time weeding through all the hits on a keyword
  10. i'd like to see a forum for product and gear reviews, such as gps's, hiking boots, rain gear, hiking poles etc. half the time i come into the forums it's to see if anyone is using the same product i'm currently in the market for. would make searching for a specific item alot easier for me
  11. i did a bit of searching and everything i found almost hit what info i was trying to find, but wanted some more clarification and reccomendations. i decided that i want to get a dedicated car gps to switch between my jeep rubicon and ford ranger for the sole purpose of getting to geocaches on roadtrips, which i take ALOT. i have a vista c and maggie meridian platinum, so the gps for the car will stay in the car when i find parking for the cache. money is not a concern as long as i can find what i need and it works well for me. from what i've found i'm going to be loking at garmin or tomtom what i'm looking for is: - a unit i can load my pq's from gsak to - enough memory so i can about put just about all the caches from CT, NY, and PA into - alert me when i am near a cache while driving on the interstate - display the waypoint or poi name on the screen while navigating to it - a nice size screen, i have very poor vision and sick of trying to navigate the roads on my vista and having to hold it up to my face - easily switch between 2 vehicles and have the unit hardwired for power - possibly a external antenna with that said i appreciate any input and reccomendations, now it's time to shower and go hit up some caches
  12. had my jeep mountain bike stolen from my porch this summer, second bike stolen in 2 years. i just pay it forward now, if i see someone stealing, i just beat the hell out of them, people haven't reported that either
  13. now i'm back on track and it works like a charm, now to get out for some caching....
  14. i've gone paperless, but it's been awhile since using it. i'm currenlty using garmin etrex vista c and magellan meridian platinum for gpsr's, gsak on the pc, and cachemate on my sony clie. my question is when i get my pq's through email and i unzip the file, there are two files, for example 1256844 and 1256844-wpts . what is the difference between the 2 files? thanks
  15. let me know how long it takes to get them. i haven't bought any "yet".
  16. hey compucache, thats almost the same vest i got from cabelas. it's awesome.

  18. i just picked up a safari vest from cabelas and it's awesome for geocaching. i can fit both of my gpsr's, compass, gloves, tb's, and all the other stuff i take with me. check it out.
  19. you can buy the wjtb at blubonnet jeep wjtb for $3.95
  20. i tried loading more than one map from mapsend directroute and only one shows up. i loaded two different regions onto my gpsr and when i go to change maps it only offers "detail00" it also shows the map title under database. it only shows one map though. everytime i load a new map it seems to erase the old region and display the new one. what gives? and is it possible to load waypoints onto my sd card from gsak or from directroute? any help would be appreciated.
  21. just bought mapsend directroute on ebay for $65. i love it and i can't figure out how i went without it.
