  1. I like to go to the map section of various caches and plan my route by scrolling through the map and hitting the new search icon as i go. Is this no longer possible with the new site?
  2. There are quite a few active cachers in this area. There arent too many events, i suggest trying to be a ftf and meet there. I am personally in Huntington but I havent been caching much lately. Have an event, maybe that'll help
  3. I am trying to complete a Delorme challenge and they want a list in GPX, and I have no idea what this means or how to do it. Any help is appreciated.
  4. the milton flea market had some as of 1/24. Directly across the road from the flea market there is a military store that has them. The ones at Gander Mtn. always seem to be beat up.
  5. A little off topic but last year I found a cache in a Christmas tree at a local park. Tha cache had always been there but not all the decorations. I was introducing a 10 yr old to the game and he found what he thought was the cache. Someone had stolen some Nintendo Wii games and hid them in the tree. It was an awesome swag, so we grabbed it and ran to the car. We figured it was Christmas gifts and turned it in to the PD.
  6. huntington wv but would travel for a nice event
  7. I am thinking about getting a garmin 60csx and was wondering how do i get the maps and the cost involved. I dont know if I have to buy them on a memory card or download them or what, and is it a difficult process. Any suggestions?

  9. the update is version 2.0, i recieved an email telling me i could update, have you registered your norton and gave them ur email? it takes about 30 minutes to download but its worth the google maps fix.
  10. its a norton 360 problem, download the update if you can. until then click on norton, settting, advance setting and turn off transaction security. you can determine the time for it to be turned off. that worked for me, there is another thread for this if you have any further problems.
  11. the new 2.0 version of 360 worked for me as well. thank goodness. i was emailed the update, so hopefully everyone will be able to fix this problem.
  12. I have just downloaded gsak and i have a some questions for the experts. My database page issues are: The state says Nil The difficulty level and terrain are both 1 on caches that are above that level a column that says lg is empty as well as last log column and last found I know to get my gc number i can llok at the browser and my number is 419905, i think anyway but that puts my caches that are local over 8000 miles away. I just put a close cache as a centre point but why is my number so messed up and how do i fix it. I hope you guys can help because i have no idea what im doing, obviously. thanks
  13. go to the actual cache page, go to where you log the cache, at the bottom on the left hand side, it will show your travel bug inventory. click on that travel bug and submit your log. it should drop your bug in the cache.
  14. You may be able to use a different type of charger. for example i have a palm z22 and use a cell phone charger.
  15. i just have a hopefully simple question. I had a coin and placed it, its gone and has been for awhile. I "retrieved" the coin so others wouldnt try to get it. How do i remove it from my inventory? Please help, this is annoying the crap outta me. thanks
  16. you may be able to get a cheap gps on the garage sale page of this forum or on ebay. On here the users are usually open to questions and know what they are talking about. I would recommend a garmin etrex, if you can find one. they are pretty cheap, around 100 when new. I dont think they have mapping capabilities but they are simple to use for those of us who arent into technology. good luck and happy hunting
  17. I have noticed that some people will log one event 15 times because they found 14 temporary caches at the event. What are your opinions on this?
  18. i am still having the problem and all my info is the same as everyone elses, norton 360 and all. i called norton and well after 2 hours of them taking control of my pc, they rebooted and the rescue me chat was disconnected. i couldnt get any help after the guy change a bunch of crap on my pc. It has to be norton, 2 laptops, same model and everything, one works one doesnt, only difference is norton. any ideas on how to fix except to through norton out of the window. a simple turn it off for 10 minutes would be nice but i have no idea how to do that.
  19. there is a cheap garmin erex on ebay for under 60. its a good gps for beginners and not complicated. it also has some accessories.
  20. I was caching with my enthusiastic nephew, who needed to prove he was a man and could find a cache faster than me. When we found the cache spot which was a hollowed out tree stump it had two openings and many hiding spots. He looked for it and said he found something sharp and kept searching. When he pulled out what he thought was the cache, we discovered it was a small dead cat skull with some fur attached. The sharp thing was its jaw bone.
  21. I am also having this problem and still wondering when it will be fixed.
