  1. I tried this and it didn't work for me, I'll keep looking for a solution.
  2. hunttess Not sure why you are having problems on your XP machine. Mine installed just fine on mine. It's our Vista machines that are not yet supported. Have you tried restarting your computer after the install? You might try un-installing and re-installing the drivers to see if that helps. Also on my XP machine the drivers are not in the drivers folder but in my > C drive > Program Files > Magellan > Magellan Tools folder. Warriorrider I have tried to install and uninstall a few times and have also tried to do a custom install. I will try the restart suggestion and then look in the folder you mentioned above. Thank you.
  3. Do you get a smiley for a discovered TB?
  4. I think I might have missed something about discovering Travelbugs. What's the point in logging a TB you don't intend on moving along to a nother cache. Is there some advantage in doing that?
  5. I recently went caching with my 2 sisters. We were doing a multi-stage puzzle cache. Nothing seemed to click, and we were getting frustrated. So as we were walking through the woods, we were singing, If I only had a brain, from the wizard of oz. That seemed to help lift the bad mood. We laughed and kept searching. It took a couple trips but we did finally find the cache.
  6. Thanks everyone for the info. I've downloaded Cachemate, and that seems to be all I need for my HP 2495b ppc. I just need to figure out what all it can do. The extra features look neat. Going paperless is a lot better than printing out all that info.
  7. Thanks everyone for all the advice, that should help a lot.
  8. I finally bought a PDA so I could go paperless. I'm not sure if I need to download GSAK or something else for the PQ, or nothing at all. Anyone else out there with this pda have any tips for me? Step by step instructions would be great.
  9. I geocache with my two sisters, we are all seniors. We love to go as often as we can. We went all through the winter and enjoyed it. We've been geocaching only 1 year and still love the hunt. We did a 5-5 cache, so terrain isn't a factor for us. We love the mental and physical challenges. I rarely go alone, only if it's a safe area, park and grab.
  10. I understand how to download cords a page at a time and append them to an existing file, but how do you order up 500 waypoints at a time? I'd love to get them all in one file at once to download them into my gps. Bookmark lists take too much time to gather one at a time, and PQ must be for just hand held organizers.
  11. When I load mine, they are in several files too. When I use the geocache manager, you just open each file, and check the box (append to existing file), I do that with each file until I have them all together in one file then I send them to my gps. Also I was wondering if you could click and drag the files into one main file. Not sure what your set-up is.
  12. I upgraded from a 200 explorist to a 600 and I love it. They are identical as far as performance used side by side in locating a cache. My geo. partner uses a cheapie garmin, and we are always off, but it does help sometimes to zero in on a difficult cache. Since I downloaded the software, I love the way it shows the caches on the color map and have to ability to make found caches. Now if I could only find a way to load gpx files to it as easy as the loc. files. Any suggestions other than loading them one at a time.
