There seams to be some confusion as to what I am asking here. Let me offer the following definition and hopefully we can work from there.
My Home Page, and this is just my definition of the term for use here, is http://www.geocaching.com/my/default.aspx It is on this page that the list of TBs called "Your Inventory" appears and is the list I would like to know if it can be separated and only display those TBs that are available to be placed
There is a page http://www.geocaching.com/profile with the title "Trackables for User: acachebox" and yes that page does list as a group My Trackables. That list is useless in determining anything as it does not identify the TBs but rather just gives a number of TBs by group type.
Back to the list on My Home Page. That list called "Your Inventory" is the list I am questioning. While in the field that is the list I look at to determine what TBs I may have available to place in a cache. The fact that my personnel TBs are intermingled with those TBs I may place is confusing and does not serve any useful purpose that I can determine. It would be useful if just those TBs that I may place were listed there.
At this point in time I only have a few TBs, however those that have a larger collection of achievement coins may have the same question.
Not to confuse things even more but it would be nice to have the date I grabbed a given TB appear next to it. This would prompt one to move TB in a more timely manor. In general the Geo software is among the best i have ever seen, tracking all manor of things in real time. This seams a somple question to whoever devised the original software.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be vague - see my previous post with instructions on how to move a trackable to your collectibles list here.
As I am not trying to be rude. But at this point we are both failures.
I would ask to have this tread closed.

Why would "Make this Trackable Collectible" appear as the only option if I had already made the TB collectible?
The pair of radio buttons is only available if the owner of a trackable has not chosen whether or not the trackable should be collectible. Once a decision is made, it can't revert to a null choice, so the control switches to a checkbox. Either way, it should be fairly straight-forward to see what the setting is for a given trackable and make the change.
If you can explain a way to separate my TBs from those I have to move on it would be greatly appreciated.
As I have already said, you simply need to move the trackables you want to hold onto into your collection. The only ones that show in your inventory will then be the ones you want to drop or dip.
I may have to find someone that can tell me where My Collectibles are first.
Please don't reply as generalities and vague references are not working.

.
We are getting closer. This is the only think on the page that relates to collectable.
Make this Trackable collectible
is that what you are referring to. There are not 2 of anything on the page.
Yes, that will appear if you have already specified that the item is or is not collectible.

First, edit any of the trackables you want to make collectible and toggle the "Is Collectible" radio button to "Yes". Then visit
Can you make this a bit clearer as I can't follow any of it. Where do i edit a TB?
Visit the trackable page for one that you want to edit. Then, click "Edit this Trackable" in the upper right corner of the page. This will take you to the edit form, where you will see all of the information you entered such as the trackable name, its mission, etc. Near the top of the page is a pair of radio buttons under the heading of "Is Collectible". You want to select the "Yes" radio button, then click the "Submit Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

Ah. That's not the home page, that's the private profile page, also known as the "my" page.
Anything that is in your inventory is displayed there, regardless of whether or not you own it. If you don't want your personal items to show in your inventory, then make them collectible and move them to your collection.
I'm not sure why you are seeing duplication of the trackable name on that page, as I only see a single name for each item there. What you are describing is seen on some other pages where the trackable type is displayed after the trackable's name. In your case, you have not given any of your trackables custom names, so that tale the name of the trackable type.
OK any help on making mine Collectables? To get them off that page.

This is the page I consider my home page
http://www.geocaching.com/my/default.aspx
This is the information I am referring to that is found on my home page

R Shack R Shack
Soaring Eagle Geocoin Soaring Eagle Geocoin

Travler Puzzle Bug Travler Puzzle Bug
Viola Viola [/b
Four of them are my personnel items, Soaring Eagles and Viola are TBs that will be placed in caches in time.
Why are they displayed together?
-
That has generally been the intent of the "Collection" list, although items in that list are not made available for depositing/dipping into caches.
Yes I am sure the information appears in different locations and may in fact be segregated as I describe. However it appears on the Home page as a combined total of TBs. That is the list most likely to be used when looking fro what I might want to place and having my items also listed there is distinctive.

I had asked this question before but never got any discussion going on what i see as a problem.
Has any thought ever been given to separating the way TB show up in one's inventory on their home page? I would like to see my retained TBs, ie those on my cars and my milestone coins, listed separately from the TB I have retrieved from a cache and intend to move on. This would be less confusing when looking for what I have to place in a cache.
Right now they are combined into one list and listed in alphabetical order. I find it quite confusing even with a relativity short list. How do those with dozens of milestone and collectible coins keep them separated from the TBs they intend to place in caches?
-
I've always seen it as the same list that you have to scroll through just before submitting a log entry.
- So now I have no idea what you're referring.
Well in the list above can you see which TBs are mine by the name next to them, because I can't. As I originally mentioned it would be nice to have them listed separately.
Later I may ask why the names of some TBs are printed twice. Thought that may have been the owners name you were referring to but that does not hold true either. Jingle Bells is not one of my TBs. The others liste twice are
-
Your trackables inventory says who owns what.
- If it doesn't have your name as owner, it needs to move on.
I guess I don't understand how one could be confused by that.
There is no distinction of ownership listed on the TB that show on my home page.

A copy from the page. 2 are TBs that I will move on and 4 are TBs that are either my milestone coins or TBs on my car. They may be seperated on some other pages but this is the page I work off while caching.

On the new format how do I search for a given GC? If I type in a GCnumber under Play, Find a Geocache it gives me 528 results around the one I am interested but not that one.

On mygeocachingprofile.com/ there are DeLorme challanges that block off a state map. Each block is numbered and has a page number assigned to it. How can I see a map of a given block thta I have not found a cache in? I would like to find caches in a given block and thus complete the map of that state.

Did you select the pocket query to run today, by checking the box for Thursday?
Yes and it ran because I can preview in my list of PQs. I just can't figure how to download it as it is not showing up in the current PQs available for downloading.
-
I have a PQ that is not showing up as downloadable. I submitted the PQ today and can see it as a preview and it is correct but it has not shown up as downloadable. Is there a way to download it from my list of PQs? Or do i just have to resubmit tomorrow?

nnnnnow we are getting somewhere. Thanks for that idea
Credit where it is due, NanCycle mentioned doing it this way above.
yes you are correct however at that point I had no idea of how to locate the cache page.
Thanks to you both I now have a way of finding the missing links.

Are you asking for the GC code? Or are you asking how to complete a challenge?
The GC code for a NJ CO challenge is given above. Not sure if it is one near you.
To complete a challenge, find the challenge cache (usually at the posted coordinates), sign the log, and fulfill the challenge requirements. They can be done in any order, but you can only post an online found it after both are done.
thanks for the New Jersey Alphabet cache GC.
My question remains how can I find caches that will allow me to fill in the missing items on the list? I can search for caches beginning with the letter X on Geocaching.com bu that only returns caches with a complete name of X. I would also like to search for caches placed by members who's caching name begins with a given letter or number.
You're missing X and 6, is that correct?
If you look at the photos of some of the logs, a few qualifying COs are : 6 guns blazing, 66MrEd, 6/21 CJG, xtrane, xd10533, xdmanman, xBird, xterrokee, xgreensquirrelx. Look them up and see if they have any cache hides near you. To find a user by name : http://www.geocaching.com/find/default.aspx

If i wanted to fill in the 36 challenge how would i locate a cache placed by a cacher who's name starts with the letter X or a number?
Look at the logs on the cache page for the challenge and see which caches/cachers others have used to qualify. (It worked for me when I needed the "X".)
That is what I do first too.
How do I find the Challenge Cache? I can see the results to date but they were just accrued with in general and the soft ware applied them to the challenge. Now I need to find the Challenge Cache so I can attempt to complete it.

Now for another question. Where do I find the challenge page? All I have at this point is a list showing what i have found relating to the 36 challenge.
-
Does the challenge dictate if it is to be actual cache owner name, or the "Placed By" name?
Are you looking for what caches you've found that qualifies, or are you looking for caches that qualify for the challenge?
The short answer is "pocket queries and GSAK". The long answer depends on your reply.
My Geocaching Profile.com gives me a list of caches that fill in the challenge using the first letter or number of the Placed by name.
I need a cache placed by someone who's name begins with the letter X and one who's name begins with the number 6. What i am asking is there a way to search with that limited amount of information?
