  1. Oh really? That's excellent news! Aren't I the stoopid one with baby brain? I will check it out. Thank you Valeites Jess
  2. I *think* you can't go back once you have installed iOS 6. Hopefully some clever soul at Groundspeak will ensure we can use decent maps. I suspect they might take some persuading though, Apple maps don't seem to be as bad in the US as they are in many areas of the UK.
  3. iPhone and iPad users; the Apple maps that have replaced Google Maps in the io6 upgrade yesterday are, well if you haven't seen them have a quick search. They leave a lot to be desired! The Groundspeak app seems to use them *argh* instead of Google Maps. Does anyone know a way around this? I'm sure there'll be a Google Maps app at some point. We use PQs on our Garmin for caching trips but you can't beat the iPhone & maps feature for spontaneous oh-go-on-then-let's-see-if-there-are-any-around-here moments. Thanks, Jess
  4. Perhaps someone damaged your original ammo can, felt guilty and replaced with the best one they could find. Very odd.
  5. As the title says really, do you have a satnav for your car that allows you to enter coords? I'm guessing Garmin does but can't find the info on their boxes. Cheers

    New maps

Sorry Raine, I didn't see your question until today Yes, my cookies are wiped every time I shut down. It helps keep things running smoothly and is only ever a problem for this annoying pop up. (As it was so annoying, I now have a macro set up to run through the whole logging on system for me with one click! How lazy) Exactly. Whether or not people accept cookies, the pop up needs not be there. Let's remove it now!

Wouldn't it be funny if it was throwing up random and bizarre words instead? Sort of like Geo-tourettes

  18. Same in the UK Shame, logging one cache has taken fifteen minutes. Not going to have time to log the other seventeen. Hope it's back up soon.
  19. Thanks, good idea. I know, the chap in Maplins today was hilarious - "You need it for what?"
  20. I am posting here instead of in the Technology forum as it is a local thing really. I am in the market for a new GPSr. Where can you go to try models out? It's all very well reading lists of specs or even other people's reviews online but... sometimes you've just got to PLAY with something before you choose it! I have checked out the local shops - Millets, White & Bishop, other sports shops, Maplin, Curry's etc. but they only seem to stock one or two and most only stock an eTrex and that's it. All advice gratefully received! Thanks.
  21. What a fab reply! Thanks for going into so much detail. I really appreciate it
