  1. Is there a way to put user defined routes on the Nuvi 650...either on the device memory or SD card.
  2. I'm up to date on the new handheld models but not too well versed with the automobile units. The wife wants a gps that will talk to her and give her turn by turn voice directions. I saw that the Nuvi 650 is $299 at costco and was wondering if this was still a good unit for the price or is there something better out there in the $300-$350 range.
  3. You must have been driving on 495 prior to that...
  4. Since I don't use the belt clip and I usually stash the GPS in my jacket pocket is there a keypad lock function for the 60cx so I don't accidently press keys?
  5. After you used them in the flashlight for just a very few minutes, put them back into your GPSr and they will work there too.....(just slightly too high starting voltage) So I need to burn off some voltage from the LI batteries? Any idea how much?
  6. I was wondering if the hole went all the way through but wasn't willing to give it a shot and put it under my shower to find out.
  7. Since I don't use the beltclip (I put it in a pocket or pack) I have no need for the stud that screws into the back of the unit. Is there some way to cover the hole so it stays water resistant? All of the other interface points have rubber covers except for the beltclip stud. The stud sticks out and doesn't allow the GPS to slide in a pocket.
  8. I tried to use my 60cx with lithium batteries (2900mAh) last night and it didn't work. When I turned the unit on the splash screen loaded up but then shut off. I checked the batteries using a voltmeter and also verifed they worked by using them in a flashlight. Any idea what's wrong?
  9. Hmm, I thought that a user could take City Navigator and download the maps he wanted to (for example all of Chicago, IL) onto their SD card and then use that as a basemap, set a waypoint, etc. Then when the user travelled to another city say NYC they could erase the old maps and put just NYC maps on their unit?
  10. I'm looking to purchase some auto routing software for my son's 60cx as a birthday present and I'm not sure which one is best (City Navigator, or Delorme Street Atlas, or???). My son is looking to be able to download custom maps for a state/city and have them on his GPS and be able to use his GPS without a laptop. I think Delorme madates that the GPS be used with a laptop. I tried to search through the forums but I'm overseas on travel and posting this from a blackberry. Thanks in advance.
