  1. Used to live in a tornado magnet, I mean mobile home, in Iowa and they lived under it but the herd. I had to crawl under there to fix the telephone line once and swore I would never do it again. THey look much much different when you are nose to nose with them. I don't care if they are non-poisonous, dead from a heart attack is the same dead as venomous causes!!! Had one that lived in the down spout of the rain gutters and would come out when you hit the spout. He was big and nasty. I think you can get an infection from them if they bite you. Ron Gerth
  2. Thanks, So far that looks like that will fix it. I am gonna leave it run for awhile in the backgroung and see if it keeps on going. Thank you very much, Ron Gerth
  3. Thanks for the information. I fooled around with it a little bit and figured out that it is my firewall program (symantec) that is causing the problems. I went into it and tried to manually enter a Permit status for the GSAK program and it froze the firewall program up........... did the whole restart thing to make sure and it did it again............ then disabled my firewall program entirerly and started GSAK. It ran like a champ, downloaded a page for our next "mission" and etc and life was good. Got greedy and turned on the firewall program and about 2 minutes later it (the GSAK program) tried to talk to the internet again and froze up the whole thing. Both my GSAK and my firewall programs are frozen tight. Any ideas? Thanks, Ron Gerth
  4. I downloaded and installed the Swiss Army Knife program from the GSAK site. I installed it and it appeared to be OK but when I run it it freezes up. At first (for about 15 seconds) all is well then it wants to talk to a DNS server so my firewall pops up and asks if it is OK. I tell the firewall to let it out and then it just locks up and sits there. Nothing happens, it can't be closed unless I shut off the computer by holding in the power button. Can you help me fix this. Looks like a neat program. Thanks Ron Gerth
  5. I got my Garmin GPS (a Legend) for father's day last month. My wife and kids picked it up at a Gander Mountain store and it came with MapSource software and a VHS video to show me the ins and outs of the whole thing. I went back to GM and got a DVD put out by a company called GPS Outfitters for about $15 that is packed with information. I don't know for sure but I think youi can buy the software from them too. Ron
