  1. If I was a cache owner and that icon was placed on my cache page, I am sure less people would visit it. Maybe the goal for the TB would be to never visit that certain cache??
  2. how do you do a search for just jeep TB's?
  3. Is there a website for Geocalc help? EDIT: ooops, I googled it and got it.
  4. oh, I feel sorry for your area. And I love the ignore option. (I guess) he got tired of his old name.
  5. I think opinions vary alot over this. Austin has a (I think) 43 stage multi. If the containers are hidden in a great location, and there are 43, thats a pride thing you can brag about. But if there were 43 lamp post micros, the first one would be annoying. If you do make a multi with more than 3 containers, make sure to tell people on your description that it could take quite a while. Welcome to the forums!
  6. Great if he only knew where stage 2 was. oops, I thought he was saying he was going to make his own cache like that. The only problem I see with a simple compass in the city is that you can not walk a bee line. You got to walk around buildings which messes up your bearing.
  7. Correct me if I am wrong all knowing ones Mark the waypoint on your GPS for stage one. Walk over to Stage two. Mark it. Use the Goto feature (for Magellans) to aim the arrow back at stage one. The GPS tells you the distance and the bearing.
  8. I sat at my computer for hours clicking links trying to find a way to get in. I blame George Dubya Bush
  9. Suddenly a new cache opens. Muggels drive by thinking why are 10 guys all with vests, hard hats, and clipboards all looking in that tree?
  10. Uh, now I will know what to look for? Hey now, the locals are not supposed to read the forums
  11. I bought a charger that goes in my cigarette lighter. Charge while I cache
  12. if it linked to the geocaching shoping page, im sure it was a hack.
  13. My area reviewer is also great. We need more stories like this. Those topics putting reviewers down is really getting old.

    Pq Maps

Is there currently a feature that allows me to use Geocaching.com Maps with my PQ that I create. Example: If I am doing a search for just large containers, I dont want the map to show micros.
  15. I believe they are Googlebots. Googlebots "index" webpages for google. They're not visiting as individual guests. Googlebots are smarter than that. They showed up as guests on the MOGEO forums. Suddenly the MOGEO forums are flooded with guests that are trying to figure out why their website has so many guests. (wow this can get confusing)
  16. I am not sure for a fact BUT I think that national parks are extremly traveled to. Geocaching would easly create a trail to and from the geocache. These trails are discourged apon because they ruin the scenery. At GeoWoodstock4 there was a geocache about 20 feet from the road in a rotten tree bowl. This one was very popular and by the end of the event was a mini dirt trial.
  17. 115 guests, 176 members 12 anonymous members is this abnormal? EDIT: wait, how are people anonymous? EDIT #2: Very bad spelling fixed
  18. It is preferred if you ask the cache owner yourself. The owner may have the intent to help those who cant find it. But then again he may want it to be difficult and want you to spend your time. Your find count is only 11. I like to find it (usually) without the help of hints. I get a better feeling out of it. What I would do if I were you, go find some more and come back later, or just keep looking. EDIT: if you can not get ahold of the owner in any way, the best advice is in your local forum. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=23
  19. if you can weld, or know some one that can, you can weld on a loop on both top and bottom. After its welded you should be able to but a lock on it.
  20. Are the bumps around the shoe sock area? Are they around the goin? Chiggers bite where clothes are touching the body the most. Socks are always touching your legs, keeping in moisture, attracts moisture. Oh and chiggers are microscopic (or should I say smaller than nano). The best way I have found is put nail polish (preferbly clear) over the red bumps. It is rare that you only get one chigger bite, usually you get more than one. Google Image Search for chigger bites sorry for the picture on the second row. Spider Bites usually have two spots where they bite. The red swollen area with two obvious marks. The best way to not feel the itch of the bites............hit your hand with a full swing of a hammer.
  21. My opinion, parking lot is just driving up, opening door, and reaching out. part of advertising is just getting the customer INSIDE the store doors.
  22. I debate my self over what I should write in logs. I think every cache has a story when you find it, so why not log it with the story written down for others to enjoy. If I am not at all impressed (example: 35mm in the middle of a forest) I want to leave a log of just "found it" If I am impressed with the cache, I want to put TFTC, or I leave a story. I log on how my moods are. I feel bad logging a terriable cache. (bad location, container, camo, etc.
  23. I like that! Now what you need is to make the combination match the co-ordinates. We have a padlock geocache here that does just that. It is a 4 digit combo made up of different parts of the co-ordinates. Took us a few minutes to figure it out. Now when you think of Gps numbers, does minutes come to mind? It takes everybody a few minutes to find!!
