  1. I had the same wonder when I was looking at which one to buy a few days ago (I'm a Noob). I decided to go with an electronic compass after a good talk with my hubby. He pointed out in one wooded area I love to go to it would be hard to watch the compass and hike in areas because you need two free hands and also the ground being so bumpy and uneven it might be hard to actually read the compass when in motion....with that said you would not be able to read the compass at a standpoint if it were not for having an electronic on. That sold me because honestly I see myself stopping to read it more than while in motion...I could be wrong after my trial with it though? Another option it to just bring along a old manual compass too...if the prices are way different it might be a good thing to stop and wonder on but, like already said above I also found it to be more of a personal thing while doing my own reading and research too...I just figured what the heck and I got it as it's got to be a improvement from not having one if anything and yeah if it ends up bugging you hey just don't use the ec feature Good luck in your choice goodness it about drove me nuts in deciding which model and feature I wanted cause I was completely lost going into this purchase lol. I ended up getting a Earthmate PN-40 and wooo what a heck of a deal for it too off eBay! The big deal breaker on mine was it had the best rating for being able to read it in direct bright sunlight!!! Can't wait until it arrives :-) And if I decide I hate it hubby can get some use out of this one he said so its a win win for me I hope.
  2. Thanks guys...yeah I guess I thought it would instantly change Sorry about that lol...It took a bit but then again the system its self probably had to refresh too. I appreciate your replies everyone thanks Phew now I'm just soapballs lol
  3. I would suggest to place some outside or in a close area of the castles that cost to go in with some info on it in a way not to sould as though you r advertising but more informing them or have a coupon deal if they get it that get so much off the entery fee to the castle. I myself if I was near the castle and I found it interesting I might go ahead and pay to go in being already in the area...depending on the time the tour takes and the cost. Or at least have a donation box at the free castles to help support the fee based one?
  4. Thanks guys yeah I'm already excited to get all the local ones loaded on my gpsr when I get it so this will be the best bet for me I guess to do the pq!
  5. I just signed up yesterday but I decided to change my name. But, now that it is changed to "soapballs" it is still is using my old name which is "Winger boys" on the forum here...does anyone know how to have it changed on the forum too? My username now is soapballs but it still is saying Winger boys...silly maybe but I would like everything to match you know???
  6. Thanks for that link..it looks like a great bag for many uses Now off to ebay to try to find a cheaper one
  7. These are so cool! I remember those pens with the shredded money inside. I think I got one for my Mom once as a gift. Heh, you leaving any of these in NE Florida any time soon? So are you shredding the money or getting them from somewhere like a bank that shreds it? Couldn't imagine anyone doing it themselves
  8. I am going to buy this device (just getting into geocaching and learning now, haven't began yet)and wonder if you have any additional software then? The other post confused me because from what I understand it works like you said out of the box so to say...in that all you have to do is select the cache you want to find, click on send to gps and that was it in order to get the full list loaded on the magellan gc gps in the way pretty much just like the computer has them listed. Now I'm lost why all the extra steps talked about? I plan on being a prem member too so I shouldn't have to do all the added steps from what I thought..yikes now I'm lost again.
