  1. Thanks Bill. That was my first impression, but wasn't sure how that would work since the disk was essentially just patched up. I'm rather new to marking, so I figured I would ask here. Thank you again!
  2. I found a benchmark today that I found pretty interesting, so I thought I would ask here as to the appropriate recovery/logging practices. See the following two benchmarks, as linked below: http://www.geocachin...aspx?PID=NC0508 http://www.geocachin...aspx?PID=AI3117 The first link is the is the original mark, while the other is the reset. According to the description, the disk is the original, but had to be remounted after the concrete post it is set in was hit. The post remained the same height. Should people be reporting for both, or should people only be reporting on the RESET as the original was technically "destroyed?" Baffling stuff for sure...haha. Anyways, any clarification on such a unique scenario would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Can I get a couple too?!? Can't wait AT - these look amazing!!! Great job!
  4. I'd like a black nickel and a silver (?) if I could. Amazing coin idea.
  5. Hey all, I was curious if there were any Arrow or Arrowhead related geocoins out floating happily in the geo-cosmos somewhere for sale. I have a great friend who is VERY active in geocaching and flintknapping, and thought this would be an awesome gift for him. Thank you! ~Szuchie
  6. I only trade my personal coins for ones I really like (or you can only get through trade). With all the coins coming out these days, I try and go after the ones that aren't all over the place. Haha - actually, the only one I've traded for so far is the Yemon Yime coin (awesome coin BTW). Trackable or non-trackable doesn't matter to me, as long as I really enjoy the coin. So I guess it's a preference thing on what you think is best. ~Szuchie
  7. If you somehow find yourself in Arcade (South of Buffalo NY), drop by! I'd love to have (or if nothing else move) one of your nice coins along. Here's to wishful thinking! Hahahaha. Szuchie
  8. If you gave them to me it would be zero! Haha.
  9. I have an event on the 14th in Letchworth State Park (GCWTN2), but if you wouldn't mind a WNY-er whose proud of placing (and finding) quality caches I'd love to be a part of the event!
  10. I feel for you Centre County. You really have some amazing caches out there. There is such a variety, and yet they all are fun and/or challenging (and most times both!). I have to say that near my immediate hometown I try very hard to keep the micro spew hiders at bay, but with minimal success. There is a park near me that boasted 4 or 5 great hides, including an amazing multi. Over the last month alone nearly 20 more caches were hid in this park...which is sad. But what really upsets ME the most is that you go to do this amazing multi, and inbetween each leg you can easily pick up 3-4 caches. It's a 4 cache multi!!! It's almost as if more and more cachers can't reside in the notion of spending 5 hours on a difficult hike to find a truly awesome cache. It's like they have such short attention spans they have to find caches while they are finding caches!!! That is sad! Hahaha. I truly think of Centre County as one of my favorite places to cache - and it's awful to see great caches going under because they are being surrounded (literally) by spew. I believe though, that as long as there are a few cachers that strive to place quality, well thought out caches - many of the cache-for-quality cachers will be ok.
  11. I'd be intersted in a set, lovvvve the treasure map idea!
  12. Email sent through gc.com! ~Szuchie
  13. Recv'd mine as well - awesome looking coin. I dig the unique shape - well done!
  14. I tried for a Benchmark or an ROT13 but had no luck (I had to sleep eventually...haha). If anyone has one they are interested in selling or trading (I'm sure we can work something out), please PM me. Thanks all! ~Szuchie
  15. Got mine today also, what a beautifully designed coin! Loves the cut-outs around the edges!
  16. I don't know if this is "on topic", but I think it may have some correlations to the topics being discussed. Recently I noticed A LOT of new caches posting in my area, and at first it was nice to see some nice local stuff, but then people started placing WAY more caches then they were finding. It got to the point that small parks had several caches placed within them. And that got me thinking... What happens when the push to hide-hide-hide gets so out of control that we used up so much of the space that exists for hiding? I just feel like there is such a thing as over population....and when you have a park that has a cache ever 500 feet or so, that scares me. I think it just upsets me and makes me wish that people would share common "values". For example, we recently had a park pummeled with cache hides by the same cacher. Shouldn't there be a "share" value there? Like - you should leave space for other cachers to try thier hand at fun and interesting hides? Not - place a few micros here and there and claim ownership of the park. Also - I do agree with some of the comments in this thread about logging. I try very hard to write something I liked, enjoyed, or had happen that was funny when logging my find. Be it a 5 mile hike, or a lamp skirt. I try and believe the owner worked hard to put something together they would be proud of (because in a perfect world they would be proud of it right...?!?!?!?). In the caches I've placed, my 100% absolute goal is to show others a wonderful area that I cherished, or a remarkable spot that I think people would not experience otherwise. I've never been about the numbers, I would rather hike miles then try and not draw suspision from locals while mingling behind a strip mall. Finally - I was lucky. In my area there are some very nice Western New York woods. Some are pretty remote...so I have been very fortunate to experience some beautiful (and very diverse) natural settings. It actually caught me off gaurd once when I read in anothers log that they had just found thier first ammo can (after 100+ finds). The thought of finding over 100 caches without an ammo can kinda makes me queezy...lol. But that's me. ~Szuchie
  17. My coin arrived today, Jen you did an AMAZING job with this. I'm so glad I was able to get one of these coins, it's def. a favorite of my collection. ~Szuchie
  18. Paid for mine, can't wait! Thanks Jen.
  19. Ordered one! (Hopefully I did it right.... ) PM if I didn't. Haha. This is the coin I've been waiting for, glad I didn't miss it.
  20. I like the art, very nice job! PMed you with order.
  21. Recvd mine today, it's HUGE! I love it, great coin concept...now how to get out there to visit the site...hmmm...
  22. I agree, that's a pretty cool idea. Hopefully it will cut down on those annoying "tb drop" logs on cache pages. Hehe.
