  1. Northern Michigan Geocachers Serving the cachers of Northern Lower Michigan with monthly gatherings and an online forum for discussion.
  2. Ditto... who care how they play. I don't. If you delete logs online if their name is not in the log book do you also do vice versa and scratch out names from the log book if they don't log them online. If it's not about the numbers and not a competition then what's the big deal. Just my 2¢
  3. MiGO may be a non-profit but they are not a charity by any stretch of the imagination. It's a geocaching group, not a charity. Auctioning an item to raise funds for the group is fine and great but labeling it as a charity auction is simply wrong in my book. Here is what Merriam Webster has to say:
  4. Please clarify... has MiGO become a registered charity?
  5. The coins have arrived and I'm working on assembling the cases and packaging them for a safe transit, first batch should be shipped to buyers tomorrow or first thing Tuesday. I'm working as fast as I can during this busy Christmas season both at home and work. In the mean time, as promised, one coin is now listed on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8365163728 Thanks for your support of the TC Winter Convergence Geocoin. http://www.rjrudy.org/geocoin.html
  6. Do you mean a personalized response, or the automatic reply that was received when a request was made to the posted email address? If you "won" you received an email with the mailing address to send the payment.
  7. Is there a list of who made the cut? Upon second thought, a list will not be published. The people you made the list have been contacted via email. If they wish to post here that they "won", then it is up to them. Some people may not want it known that they won and I'm not about to email everyone to ask if I can list them... I guess I would consider it a privacy issue?
  8. Not yet but I will add it to the coin page listed.
  9. That is my blunder... substitute "anniversary" with "occurrence". My wife will be happy now that I understand the meaning of anniversary.
  10. As of 9:42 PM EST they are sold out.... any further requests will be added to the waiting list. Thanks
  11. These have been on sale in the local Michigan forums for two days with only a couple coins left... hurry and grab them or be added to the waiting list in case a current order cancels. I should have had more than 100 made... http://www.rjrudy.org/geocoin.html
  12. The 5th Annual TC Winter Convergence will take place January 21, 2006.
  13. I was co-firstfinders on this cacheElberta Beach Cache which contained $100 first finders prize. We split the prize, $50 each. Another cacher was at the site prior to us but couldn't find so they gave up and played on the beach below. They gave us a TB put in the cache, that was if we could find it and we did. We uploaded several pictures with our log entry.
  14. quote:Originally posted by trippy:We are in the process of moving. Probably. But it takes some finesse to do it without significant downtime. It will be a 30-60 day migration, I guess we'll just have to be patient. Who are you thinking of changing to? I'd like to say what I said before. I use oc12host.com, not one lick of trouble in the last 3 years. They continue to upgrade their equipment and always, I say always, send out an email when ever they are planning any maintenance. As a matter of fact, they have a scheduled upgrade tonight, new routers and server upgrade, service may be down for 2-3 minutes. ABXGuy
  15. 5:50 PM still down. Time to change host service. ABXGuy
  16. The Petzl Tikka Headlamp is all I use for night caching. It is true, like BrianSnat stated, the light is more of a wideangle glow but I have found it to be quite sufficient for the purpose. I haven't changed the batteries yet.
  17. I have a Sony Mavica FD-90 and it takes excellent pictures. About $500 for 1.6 MP and 10x zoom. The part I like the best, though others may not, is the use of standard floppy disks for picture storage. No serial ports or USB ports required to download pictures, no special software neither. I can take pictures and load them onto a computer without the need of any special software to download the pictures from the camera. Depending on resolution I can get from 5-30 pictures on a disk. A friend recently purchased a Kodak 4MP camera, don't remember the model, but it takes the worst pictures I have seen from a digital camera.
  18. Spent four years as an SP (410 SPS) guarding our nukes in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula at K.I. Sawyer AFB. Cross-trained to aircraft mechanic and worked another year and a half in the KC-135 Phase Dock performing inspections/repairs on the tankers at Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda, MI. Both bases are now closed. Developed a medical condition which made me unfit for worldwide duty so I was given a medical retirement, that was in 1983. I have many great memories of the time I spent in the military service.
  19. From Traverse City, MI - 49684 I'm to the point that I need to plan an entire day long cache trip to find anymore. ABXGuy
  20. I will be in Lansing on the 18th for a full day of caching while the wife is at a conference. If no one has had a chance to look for it I will since the first cache on my list for the day is in the very same area. I'll check the cache page just before we leave for Lansing. ABXGuy
  21. One more time then I better read the instructions if it doesn't work.
