  1. A note for future reference. the UV reactive Wildfire (www.wildfirefx.com) paint degrades in regular sunlight. I do not know how long the reaction lasts, how long before it weathers away. Let me know. It is a cool idea tho..
  2. I too have found the hardest part is looking for a micro in a 15' radius. Looking over, under and around. I might try the vest/hardhat/clipboard idea. We use our code (see above) when someone sees it...very handy in group situations. What can we use as an excuse/reason for 5 ppl searching..any ideas?
  3. My son and i have been out a few times, and it seems ineveitably, someone ends up watching us during some cache. We have worked out a code for when we see the cache (if it can be readily seen - ie: a magnetized cache under a public trash can, or a pile of rocks) "whoever finds it says: "Did you hear what Darren (my 5 year old) did the other day?" That alerts us to the fact it was seen, and then we come together and work out a plan to distract any muggles (usually my job) while my son gets the cache. Any good ideas? Yesterday, a UPS driver was taking a break, parked, pointed right at the cache. Watching every move we made. Unfortunately, we were wandering around a planter in the middle of a parking lot. for no good reason. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. I made a "Out in the open" cache out of an electical box cover. The kind with no holes, save the screw holes. I cut off the screws, and glued them to the cover. I then Glued 4 small dime sized magnets to the inside of the cover. I glued the rubbery insulation on the back, with the center cut out. After all that was dry, I camo'd the face to match the area (rust in this case) and glued a very small zip lock bag (holding the papaer log) to the back. When I placed the cache, it was nearly invisible - even tho it was out in the open.
