    ILYK

drneal, you always come up with interesting new coins :o

I see a round one with a bone shaped hole in it and a ring attached to it. Is it a geocoin?

What's the name of the 2 coins on the bottom right?

With the postal workers on strike, how will I be able to survive? I still look in my mailbox hoping for a miracle

The two round ones with the bone shaped hole are "Good Dog Blessing Rings". They're not trackable, just a gift I sent to drneal with some trades for his pups. :-)

  2. We've just found this website and it is such a hoot, it's inspired the idea of asking people to come up with (humorous) words to put on a small plaque to go on a bench to remember a loved one (or a suggestion for themselves.)

    What a great website!

I know! Quite odd, but had us in stitches.

Talking of stitches, here's another idea for a coin mission. Based on the idea of being home made. Anyone wanting to join in has to make something as a gift to send to someone else, along with the 'home is where the cache is' coin, which acts as a tag to be dipped (I would activate my coin to send as the tag and send the prize to the first recipient.) We each give anther (unactivated) coin to the person along with the home made gift. So the home made gift might be anything - some cross stitch, something knitted, sewn, carved, moulded, steampunked, jewellery or key chain items or something drawn or painted. Small enough to go into a cache, and either useful, cute, beautiful, wearable or funny or any combination of these.

Not a cointest idea.. but I really hope you decide to do this mission! I'd sign up in a heartbeat!!

  3.

I can just take it off this round. since there's the variable of the proxy who's trading for me and the postal service getting them to me, then adding on the time to get it to someone else.. I'll just hold on to one for the next trade. Sorry for the trouble.

No big deal. I'm just trying to save you some problems down the road if it all goes bad timing wise. What number line was it to make sure I don't pull the wrong line?

    #761?

Yeah go ahead and leave it on so there's no more work for you and I won't put anything in for it.

You could just leave it in the trade list and the owner can leave the wish list blank for that coin.

    Or that.... :)

I'd be fine with that. Less work for you. :D

  5. Hello folks. This is my first math trade so I was double checking some things. I realized that I listed a non-trackable personal geowoodstock dove.. and I'm not 100% sure when I'll have them in hand as they are going to the event to be traded for the others, then coming back to me with the few extra's of mine in tote.

I can either have it taken out of the trade or have the note changed to reflect that it may be a bit before you have this coin in hand if you put it in your wish list.

Sorry for the inconvience! All other coins listed are now in hand.

Are you absolutely positive that you will have this in hand? If you can't guarantee that you will have it, then it's not a good idea to put it on the list.

    Just let me know.

  6. "Um.. are you sure we don't have to have a kid to be here?"

~My husband upon pulling up to the 4-H Camp Bristol Bash this weekend. Tons of kids there (very respectful ones at that!)

  8. I'm gonna do two missions.

Obviously I love dogs! and any coin that has anything to do with dogs.

outside of geocoins I have 3 shelties and an aussie... and honestly in addition to my aussie/sheltie/collie collectables I collect sheep things (since they're herding dogs.).. nightmare before christmas things (zero especially!)

Also I love Dr. who and KINDER EGGS (if you get me in the random draw and are from a country that has these wonderful things please send me at least one!! hehe)

  9. A couple people sent that they'd be happy with anything. So if you guys don't mind posting a little more about your personal interests. That way the person who gets you might be able to pick a coin that matches your interests outside of geocaching! Thanks! Let's keep 'em coming!

  10. No Boots........, it's not that much more than you. GrnXnhm has us both beat anyway. Things were alot busier in this thread a few years ago, but not so much anymore. Can we get something started again?

I have 141 wooden nickels and 41 poker chips, each unique and different with a fellow geocacher's name.

And I honor and respect the effort that went into making every single one of them, and that they represent a geocacher out there somewhere that I will probably never meet.

My son and I are new to geocaching, but we've had a great time on our first few excursions.

Comments like this: "I honor and respect the effort that went into making every single one of them, and that they represent a geocacher out there somewhere that I will probably never meet" make me proud we've taken up the sport. You folks are a good lot. Thanks for sharing your time and experience in the forum.

I was very shocked at the respect and interest in helping new folks out in this forum when I joined! It's what got me hooked on geocoins! Check out the pay it forward forum... and then look at how people quietly help everyone else out.

I had a friend loose a geodog when we had just started geocaching and a fellow coin person sent me a rainbowbridge coin for this person... no questions asked and this is a very large, sought after coin....... that's the geocoin community!

  11. OK...I know that many of us are anxious for this Mission to move forward to completion...

I have gotten an email a few weeks ago about one of the two remaining BOXes, and it's on the way. once it gets here, I'll move forward with this in one of two ways. The Mission always included me adding three BOXes to the 25, so I'll either stick with that and just short myself on one of my 2 keepers, OR...I'll pack up 4 instead to make up for the missing one. Either way, this will get going when the 24th BOX arrives. It still may take me a week to handle everything here though(a week after the arrival of 24).

...so you mean this fun mission will end someday???? WHAT A PITY :laughing::laughing:

Nah.. he'll just have to start it all over again! It'll be like groundhog day just repeating over and over again!

  12. The huskey one is a Cook Island Commerative coin (says Elizabeth II, Commeration, Cookislands on the back). It's a pretty thick coin.

The shepherd ones are actually thinner then I thought they's be. They were simply listed as "chinese zodiac coin-dog" and are from China. They're more of a token.

  13. Haven't posted photo's in a bit. Got a handful of both trackable and non-trackable coins in the mail last month.

    of98ub.jpg

Coins on the left are non-trackable, coins on the right are trackable.

WOW!! Can you please help me in something?.

and I really need your help in this one...... what is this 1 cent piece with the dog??? I am talking about the small coin between the haskey dig coin and DrNeal's wooden nickels!!

Is it a real coin??? what metal is it? Aluminium? from which country?? I have to find one for sure! I didn't know that dog coins existed... only the commemorative ones... but this is a 1 cent piece??

the bronze coin (non trackable one) in the cardboard with the zelatine... is a token or a geocoin?

The bronze one is a token. North Shore Animal League. It's got a shepherd on one side and a cat on the other. "God created man and woman and gave them dog as friend" is on the outside edge

The collie coin Is a cook island $.01 2003 http://www.omnicoin.com/country/Cook%20Islands
