  1. So a couple of rants here on cache classifications. Why do people refuse to list micros and nano's as such. Simply not putting in a cache size or listing it as unknown shouldn't be allowed. If it's a micro/nano, then select it and put it in the description. Not everyone likes these types of caches and they like to filter them out. Am I alone in this frustration with the cache hiding submitter system? /off my soap box.
  2. Come on Tahosa, Last year it was complaints that there were no meetings, this year its about spelling. There was a meeting in July, one is planned for Sept and November and January and March. Looks like we are still alive and well. Maybe you are confused by that other group that likes us so much they copied our name? Hang in there K12 you will find something to get me on. Keep working on it. Dude, I'm not trying to get ya on anything, I was just wondering, I went to the site and it said it was down blah blah blah... I was just curious.
  3. It's not just that, it's that One Admin Enforces it yet anotehr doesn't so it forces one cacher to become angered that he has to make concessions and comprimise to get his cache listed. It was a General Question not pointed at any one admin. But really there needs to be more communications between admins, not right that some approve things yet others stick by the rules (not0 a bad thing but ya know it's kinda liek the But tommy got ice cream how come I don't get any, ahh timmy that's cause your leader is sticking by the rule of no ice cream...) But it's all done and in the past, time to move on and jsut be happy.
  4. Just curious what happen to the Colorado Geocaching Club?
  5. How does someone become the cache approver for a state? And how can you get someone removed from this position? Just curious. Is it purely a volunteer position? Friends of the geocaching people? Elected official?
  6. I lvoe the one with the most trees. Only thing about that latest one tho, is the mountains look liek a volcano...maybe ya can peak that middle mountain som?
  7. Drats, I just changed my avatar to an animated gif and it didn't animate here darn, lol, it's a dragon that eats the wizard lol, back to topic kinda yeah I've been trying to get people to post there but they won't. What's the word on these coins?
  8. I have to agree with ya, wish more people used them, even tho they are a bit rough.
  9. MAkes me sick that Boulder is doing this. It's liek Hey guys we have all this great open space and beautiful land, but you can't do anything on it, you can't go on it, just sit in your cars and look at it. LAME is all I have to say about that. And come on, destroying the area and scaring animals. If anything the majority of Geocachers actually help teh area, and help keep it clean.
  10. My only suggestion with the new design above, is make the mountains more dominate, after all we have some of the tallest mountains in the US, we should make em look liek that, those look like foothills, other then that these designs are great and give some good choices, I still think I like the stars more tho...
  11. That is absolutely PERFECT! I say we go with that design. It has my vote as the coin I love it Great Job on that design
  12. That latest coin is spectacular! I dont' think that one can be topped. You got that right Tahosa, someone emailed me the other day from Conneticate and told me they got a bloody nose attempting my cache I have hidden in teh greenhorn at 9k feet. good stuff. I like everything about that newest coin GJ Idea for the back of the coin, have the state of colorado or our flag and the geocaching logo and info...
  13. I love that quote It isn't a 5star if ya don't need oxygen.
  14. These are also great. and for the other side I like the this one the best ( This is a must have on it, in my opinion ), and I say we have the geocaching logo on the back (Just my thoughts, it might help differ cost as well since, assuming we go with a company that has minted these coins in the past, will already have the mold for the geocaching logo.) Nice work on those images. EDIT: Maybe not on the geocaching logo, cause I like the second image on teh second set of iamges above. That should be good.

  16. If you are in for a good 2-4 hour hike (depending on your in shape abilities) I'd recommend Goat Mountain Cache by Fensalir GC3B13 The views from this cache are amazing. The Hike is great and there is picnic areas all over this park. I'd really recommend doign this cache.
  17. Anyone else having problems accessin the forums? I've been trying for a week now and no luck.
  18. I am also looking to replace my current GPS Unit, the Magellan Meridian GPS. I jsut dont' liek the size and how it fits in my hands. I was trying to picka new one but having a hard time choosing. The Garmin website claims that these eTrex line do well in dense forest. Is this claim bogus? A lot of memory isn't that important to me, I think the 8 mb will be fine since I don't travel much outside my home state. I noticed the Vista isn't compatable with PC, which is a downside for me cause I like to connect to my computer and upload waypoitns and download etc... also I heard hte garmins have custom icons you can upload? Anymore info you can give me about these products.? Seems the only reason to upgrade from reading here to the vista is the memory and altimeters.
  19. Sad to hear that. He was so close to 1k finds. and he always had polite and good logs. Wish I coulda met him in person. Seemed like he oulda been a kewl guy to know.
  20. "Boulder's not a real geocaching-friendly place," said Scott Clair, who owns a local graphic arts studio. "Boulder likes to advertise that they have more open space areas than anywhere else, but then they bitch and moan when people want to use it." Yikes..can't believe that published that. But it's so true.
  21. What website you go to? I go to www.texasgeocaching.com and it says service unavailble. hmmm

What I did was converted my name into numbers like it said and I came up with 24° 36.85 N I looked on a map and foudn out that it was closest to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 24° 39' . You can pick the E coordinate probally something like 46° 42' XXX E If you can help me out let me know that would be awesome and we both get a cache find. Thanks AgentK12
