what is "MC-TBT"?

yea, i paid my satellite bill(xm radio), and i've waited a long time, close to an hour, but no not stationary, i would be walking, sometimes under trees and cloudy conditions, yesterday we had some tornadoes around here! both have yet to be tested and tried! both states they have a base map, i never tried it w/o the sd card. but i dont think that should have any bearing or affect on trying to pick up any satellite. guess i'll remove the card and give it a try!

the flashing pointer with the (?). i try, but nothing. the pointer is on OK, i see the boxed map but unable to move the cursor toward the area where i created the map(NE)!

any suggestions! i have the iway 100m and the map & music. downloaded mapcreate turn by turn 6.3.2 onto a 1gb kingston sd card. it seemed to have register on the screen. but wont navigate or get me any satellites. is there something wrong with both units, do i need an external antenna? tia

i'm still overwhelmed with my lowrance iway 100m, and the m&m. have yet to see if either work. bought the iway last aug, and the m&m(map&mp3) last feb.

The new plan looks much better anyway, you get the manufacture rebate price but it's knocked off at the store and also don't have to pay tax on that money like normal. I like that. sort of like an "instant rebate". i rarely buy from best buys, their prices to me never seem to be the best buy, but i did get the rebate that was offered a couple of month ago! guess the investigation from the atty gen forced them to honor my rebate!

i too will avoid rebates unless it's a must have and receiving the rebate becomes an added bonus! many retailers like compusa i'll never trust! some are trustworth like staples and riteaid, but many manufacturer rebates in my experience are just scam jobs. i'll read other users experiences before i submit to a purchase with rebate. there should be a sticky on peoples experiences with etailers and manufacturers rebate. ofcource we wouldnt find out until 8 weeks later. by then who remembers what it was for. and if you never receive you wouldnt know anyway because you've already forgotten about it. that's been my experience. only when i receive a postcard that gives a lame excuse for honoring the rebate: wrong date, missing receipt, missing form/application or wrong form. so, i just really dont bother with rebates anymore. i'll wait for a sale, or go elsewhere, if it's cheaper than list.

well back from manhattan, fired up the iway 100m. as you might have guessed it didnt work! guess i'll be calling lowrance again on monday. seems like alot of these lowrance gps find there way with questionable dealers/ stores. i was told the same thing when i purchased mine at eBuyer.com.

thanks for the info. i also have the iway 100m i purchased last year, but have still to test it. it took me forever to transfer the map onto a 1gb sd card(kingston). their estimates were so far off the actual i had to downscale it 3 times. now i just complete the map from east of alabama. the estimate read 558mb, the actual map size was 875 mb! i'm going to give it a try today in manhattan and on the elevated subway! where did you get yours for $160.00. i got mine for $225.00 at a scam etailer (eBuyer.com) sold me a defective cd.

what size sd card did you use, and how long did it take you to create the map? how far off was their estimation of size compared to the actual map size? what size of map and states did you create?

would anybody know if there is a way around for lowrance mapcreate 6.3, turn ny turn cds? i needed to always put a cd in before i can attempt to load a map onto the sd card!

did you load the map onto your sd card yet? what size card are you using? and where did you get the 100m for $114.00, i got mine for $200.00 last sept. and i thought it was a great deal, if i could ever get it to work!

unless this update is essential for my 2610, i'm going to wait untill i can sucessfully tranfer a map on my lowrance iway and ifinder. been doing this since memorial day weekend.

think any of these aforementioned progams will work on a garmin street pilot 2610, lowrance iway 100m, and/or lowrance ifinder m&m(map&music)?

well it finally completed the finalizing map at 10pm est. i started this endeavor on fri. 4:30pm, thats about 52 hours on my hp tablet, the only peecee i have access to. i'm a mac person, an old ibook g3, 10.2.28. well i thought i was going to put 918mb of map on my 1gb kingston sd card, because the first attempt i tried to put 977mb, thats because the available free space was 982mb, so i thought i was safe, wrong. i didnt pay attention to the actual map size on the first run. however, on my 3rd attempt, i did pay attention to the actual size compared to their estimated size. the estimated size of 918mb was so far off to their actual size of 1294.03mb. so i deleted again, so now at 10:15pm est, sunday, 6.05.06, i will attempt my fourth load. this time i lowered the map size to 800mb estimation. hopefully by wed. i can transfer this to my iway 100m. and see if this gps works. i just purchased a 2gb kingston card i was hoping to load the whole usa. but if 1294.03 only included east of kc, mo. i doubt i can put much more than east of texas. i guess you would need a 4gb to load the whole contiguous states! one more ? i have a patch cd that came with my 6.3, should i have downloaded that with the rest of my cds?

when i'm done loading mapcreate 6.3 on this tablet(hp), i'll try it on my ibook g3, but i'll try using a 2gb card and attempt loading all of south america!. i only have the LEI card reader that's probably 1.1 usb, and it's really slow! where should i register this card on the peecee tablet, or should i try it on the ibook. i have 10.2.8. which software will i be using?

well now it is 8:45 est, now i am up to calculting size! over 28 hours later! think it has to do with the S L O W 1.1usb?

also new to this got mine last year garmin street pilot 2610 (ok) bLowrance iway 100m (had it since sept, 2005) still new in pkg, only last week am i trying to transfer map on unit, still downloading it). bLowrance map and music) mp3, got that at woot.com for $145.00 back in feb. have yet to open that unit! my girlfriend(eh) if you want to go on a round about way!

thanks Airmapper you already dug it up for me on another post and i did upgraded it. but i believe the SD reader/writer is a 1.1 usb( as the reader/writer does not say 2.0, therefore i assume it's the slower 1.1). after updating the firmware yesterday(fr. 4:30pm est) i created the map for the 3rd time. i am now on "building search table" (7:01am est, sat). i was hoping it would take only acouple of hours, not days! i do have a zip file on my desk top, not sure if that is just another driver i may have downloded from the lowrance site. i'll unzip it later if this 3rd attempt dont work out! only downloading 718.9 mb eastern and some of cental usa. 775mb was too much but wasnt enough space on SD card, of course i only found out after the complete download and 73 hours later!

how long is long? as long as it is taking me to load 918mb. this is my 3rd attempt since last saturday, nonstop!

crappy software, garmin's still the best, or atleast it works! i cant even put this on my iway 100m, much less know if the unit works or accurate! if i soun upset, it's because i am irate. 1 week later of trying to load the map onto my sd card twice, i am about to give up!! but then i bought this unit from eBuyer.com. a disreputable etailer!

Lowrance released the upgrades because of slow map transfers. thank you so much for all of your support! which is more than i can say about lowrance! i am not having much luck with my second attempt! 72 hours and still transferring! after this last attempt i will update the reader! and i will never ever get another lowrance gps!
