  1. Its just a radio receiver/transmitter. Each person needs to have a Rino for this to work. thanks for all of these info.
  2. i like the rhino feature if it broadcasts the position of the other persons location, sort of like a homing device. does it show the location on the map? how is that possible? must have some kind of homing device!
  3. what is the true talking distance on these rhino's? and can they use any garmin maps, i have a street pilot 2610. could i use their maps on this?
  4. but some users are using them instead of the standard sd cards that normally could fit in their gpsr. there's really no benefit then, are there, if the standard fits, it's just as good but cheaper, is that correct?
  5. i've noticed some folks here are using the micro sd cards instead of the standard size sd cards for their gpsr. are there any reasons to use them instead of the cheaper standard size sd cards?
  6. that's too bad your kingston sd card could not work on your iway 100m. i have a 1 gb kingston and a 1gb ocz sd card working on both my iway 100m and my ifinder M&M gpsr. they work interchangebly. my 2gb kingston, however wont work on either gpsr, it just continues to spin. i suspect 1gb is the max for these GPSrs. was hoping to fit the entire usa, canada and parts of mexico.
  7. i think you have to register your sd card. didn't your map create program come with an lei card reader?
  8. i guess it's probably ok to buy small ticketed items from ebuyer.com, like an sd card, how much can really go wrong with flash memory? but as ebuyer.com indicated to me after i attempted to refute the charges, "ebuyer.com does not cover electronics sold by them". ofcourse i never saw that disclaimer on their website. my credit card sent it to me as i lost the complaint. i never did see much of ebuyer.com or its advertisements shortly there after, and that was last fall.
  9. great idea, i guess tube sox would work great. but "red sox" must s**k. lol
  10. you can also download some programs that alert you of red light cameras. they have them in the uk, i believe.
  11. it's too bad i got beat from ebuyer.com, their prices were too good to be true! lowrance warned me about this company. lowrance told me the units they sold did not come from lowrance at all, but probably from some auction warehouse/closeouts, and thus could not provide me with any warranty repair service or customer support.
  12. not related, just a coincidence that i'll be going to the islanders home opener tomorrow vs the bruins.
  13. for driving i've been using the street pilot 2610. i tried the lowrance 1way 100m to get me from pa. to nj. but the trees kept losing satellite reception on me, should've used the external antenna. the iway takes a real long time to re-rout you if you make a wrong turn, taking you to a different route, in this case on the back roads instead of 80. it was the first time i used the iway to get me to back from an unfamiliar route. i was tempted to connect the 2610 to get me to my destination, but i had to try the iway atleast once. for fun or eventual caching i may try the lowrance M&M. but i have the map create 6.3 street map, so this may not work for topography. still learning and figuring how to use both lowrance gps
  14. probably from the myriad of complaints and negative ratings they received from the american consumers! i must've been one of their last american customers they scammed!
  15. i have a kingston 1gb on my iway. it took several loading attempts for this to finally work. did you initialize your sd card? reload the map once more after you initialize it. estimate map size should not exceed 400mb. i purchased a 2gb card as well, but the iway and the ifinder both just kept spinning. so i know the 2gb is too high. and if you squeeze the card into the slot and turn it with some force it should fit right in.
  16. be careful when you buy from ebuyer.com. they sent me a defective cd for my iway 100m, and would not replace it or grant me a refund. i will never deal with that etailer, buy at your peril. check out buy.com they will return or refund any defective merchandise they sell.
  17. cant make it for the 18th of nov., therefore my vote would be for halloween weekend! 10.28
  18. who's permission should you'all ask? the deceased, the family and friends of the deceased? the caretakers?
  19. customer service can be supportive depending on whom you talk with. it was technical support who sent me a the map create 6.3 that worked. customer support told me the etailer (ebuyer.com) was not an authorized dealer, thus, they would not "support" me and replace the defective cds. and it took a year before i got the replacement cd (not a year to ship, just a year of me dealing with customer support and one to finally connect me to technical support, who actually send me a working cd).
  20. a friend of mine many years ago was led blindfolded to a cemetary across from her dorm as part of her initiation for a soroity. she was to kneel there for some specified time by herself before she could remove the blind. and when she did she was facing some tombstone. she cried in fear, motionless for a long time, left an indelible impression for a very long time!
  21. if i was resting in peace, i dont mind visitors paying their respect, but not to disturb my peace for other than to pay their respect. a cementary is for friends and relatives to visit the departed and reminece. would you want some stranger walking over your mother's grave as they are reading a compass or gpsr?
  22. you might want to consider battery park, the staten island ferry, or even chinatown!
