  11. i i hope this is the right place to post .. Kia ora-- i got home today from my teaching/ coaching job where my baseball team took two butt whooping from a friend of mine.. only to find this sweet little package on my table .. i have been waiting to see what i was being sent after finding out i was a winner .. i am so stoked .. this is my first geocoin..... i am now the proud owner of a 2007 joe 6-pack geocoin.. "pic coming soon" i really have mixed emotions.. part of me want to activate it and see where it goes .. but like other first .. there are just some things you want to hang on to .. who knows i'll have to see how it goes .. i'll keep everyone posted as to it's where bouts.... thanks so much to keewee for doing this .. and for the great geocoin.. have a good day ..
  12. I know you don't want to pay more than $200, but if you're willing to pay for maps, I'd suggest spending a little more on the GPSr instead and get an Oregon 450. That way you get all of the great features that aren't on the 60CSx and you get a GPSr that isn't discontinued. GPSFiledepot has great maps, that's what most everyone uses. One thing about the 60CSx that I never see mentioned is that the newer ones don't have the superb SirfStar III chip that the originals had.Edit: Spelling i'll let you know in about 48 hours when mine gets here.. i found one on ebay brand new .. got it for 281 shipped priority from californa.. the map feature and paperless geocaching was a big deal for me .. i got my 450 for what the dakota 20's are going for.. good luck .. i am stoked about mine getting here..
  13. do you still have this unit. thanks for the time.. curtis
  14. Ok i'll guit lurking i have added about 4 coments trying to help but have never came right out and gave a formal intro.. my name is curtis... also known as daddy tree frog.. of the OkieTreeFrogGang we stumbled into geocaching by pure accident.. but we have been hooked since then.. our introductory accidental first find was on jan 16th 2011.. thanks for having us .. i have really enjoyed the reading here.. and look forward to learing all that i can and hopefully meeting some of you on the trail someday.. ps .. i would love one of the trackables/ coins.. we are new to all this ..
  15. I owned one for only a short while but don't remember anything odd or specific about the screw except that it was small. I was thinking it should be an easy find at a hardware store or electrical supply. If I still had mine I'm sure I could have matched it up with one from a drawer full of nuts & bolts I've been saving for years. No help to you now though. (Sorry) If someone don't come through take it with you to the store & test out a few. Those guys like a challenge anyways. It's more than likely a fine thread & possibly metric so don't force anything in there that don't wanna go smoothly. Thanks Ltljon for the suggestion. I will take it to the hardware store with me and see if I can find a screw that will work. I have a friend that has the same GPS and I may borrow his to find a match for the screw. Thanks for the reply and have a great day! did you ever come across a different unit or a screw? i know a guy that has one lying around i have benn tring to buy it .. as a backup.. let me know ..
  16. are you looking for full length? if not there is a guy who does his own.. his name is andy smith-aka head hard hat.. he does geosnippits.the link is HERE He has some good ones.. tell him Curtis aka--OkieTreeFrogGang in oklahoma sent ya.. curtis
  17. just want to help... i have a senario you might want to consider.. i use my iphone as well.. i was like you.. ready to pull my hair out and was not having fun.. because the geocaching app for 9.99 was awsome.. it gives all the information you could want except it killed my battery.. i had to plug it in the car after every cache.. i have a magellan explorist 300.. it has been dead on for me.. i love it.. but i wanted to be paperless.. well sitting here on the couch playing around with my iphone i found a way to turn off the gps.. but still retain my top 10 searches with all there info... so long story short you can pick up an explorist 100, 200, 0r possible a 300 for under your budget..and i think you will have a combo that might bring you great joy. let me know if i can help more... shoot me and e-mail .. just my .02.. curtis
