  1. I just had to add my recent experience to the list here. I just recently purchased 2 geocoins from coinsandpins and received them in about a week. I had not read this thread before I tried to activate, so yes, I did panic a little when I went to their website. I did follow the instructions and emailed late last night for the activation codes. This morning, there was an email in my inbox with the necessary codes. So kudos to them, the whole transaction went smoothly. I would only advise that they change their home page, given it's been several months apparently, with a more streamlined message that reads something to the effect of: "To activate your coin, please email us at ..." "Older coins can be activated at ..." Just so that the appearance seems less worrying, and that emailing is actually the standard practice. I would buy from them again, they've been quick and responsive.
  2. I'm having the exact same problem, the upgrade actually worked great for a day, now i cannot connect to network. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, soft reboots, everything. Waiting for the update to fix at this point.
  3. So I published my first cache, Red Moon Rising, and it's fairly easy to get to. Well, when the wind and rain isn't coming down on you. Either way, the only reason I mention it is that there are 5 San Diego Geocoins seeded there as well as a TB in case anyone is interested. Enjoy, Lokidog
  4. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to get to know too many fellow geocachers. So in a shameless bit of self promotion, I'd like to congratulate ...... Me....... on #100 today. Added a few extras finds too.
  5. That's the same thing people said about using PCs. I was really glad to hear that "I can't do it" stuff finally end. Anyhow, it seems like you learned how to use a PC just fine. Using a Palm is actually just as easy. You just have to get the hang of it. But we are getting very close to having reasonably priced broadband wireless! I think it's down to $60/month now. That is the ULTIMATE! I have my Verizon wireless card, broadband access anywhere makes it really handy while i'm out there. The only thing that limits me is battery life.
  6. Any geocaching Halloween events going on? I'm still within my first year of geocaching so not sure what, if anything, goes on. I was thinking GPS trick or treats, or a geocache haunt, or maybe some spooky caches. Just curious. -lokidog
  7. Hey, I had to try, it looked like too much fun and I've been dying to score a WJTB. So far I've been acused of not being a loyal Chargers fan since I didn't wait to see the game []. Nice to meet the good doctor, thanks for the cache. I'm dropping it off tomorrow at another cache here in SD though, so look for it. I'll even post it after I've done it. I'll be out on vacation for a few weeks and I don't want to keep it out of circulation too long. As I promissed, I left the White AND Yellow Jeep TB this morning. You can find it here! Enjoy.

  9. Being relatively new, I'll just ask my question. How do you folks keep up on geocoins from other areas? Just scan other lists?
  10. I'll be happy t odrop it in a nearby cache CowSpots if you want it. Always looking for good ones in the SD area.
  11. Mr. TucsonThompsen, I got a TB headed stright for you. Bringing it to Chicago next week, so be on the lookout, it'll be on your side of the country. Land Shark TB
  12. So my friend from South Africa, who has been geocaching much much longer than I have, was telling me of a TB race that they have going on down there. ( TB Race ) I was wondering if we've ever done something like this in San Diego, sounds like fun. -lokidog
  13. I'll be around. i live in downtown, and although I work, I'm sure I can figure out a way to take some time out.
  14. Hello to all. I'm a newbie, only 16 finds into geocaching and loving it. But wondering what the best way to meet other cachers in San Diego is. Figured this thread was a good start. lokidog
