  1. Has anyone tied a screen protector with their COs? Did you adapt a preexisting screen protector? If so, what did you use and where did you get it? Did you purchase one specifically for the CO? If so, what are your thoughts on it? What about that nvisibleSHIELD brand, is it worth the $12 (US)?
  2. I think Marky does multi-caches the same way I do. I like to see the double yellow boxes as my next stage or the final in a multi cache. I would like a way to edit the existing coordinates of the multi to the newly discovered coordinates of the next stage or the final while always have the cache description and hints right there. Also it would be nice to edit the location of a puzzle cache when solved to the location of the physical container.
  3. I would like to have... ...a power on chime like the 60s. ...earthcache icon loaded as a earthcache icon instead of the blue question mark. ...proximity to waypoints, POIs, and geocaches. ...waypoint averaging. ...a lanyard for the unit. ...louder alerts (I like to listen to the radio when driving), ...the ability to delete geocaches from the map. ...customizable power on screen where I can input my contact info (right now I have it saved as a .jpg on the SD card so it will be viewable with image viewer feature.
  4. Try Cabela's or REI, great customer service. Don't know about shipping across the pond, check out their web sites.
  5. Like this (made with MsPaint ) ! And I want icons not only for Geocaches - will be nice to have for Waypoints and POIs as well. Okay, are you going to share this with everyone else? This would be cool to have. Just right-click and "save as" No, how do you get the icons to appear next to the cache name just like in the picture?

  7. The only thing is Earthcaches appear as mystery or puzzle caches (the blue question mark).
  8. Just noticed this on a cache I just downloaded to my CO. I downloaded an Earthcache but the cache icons appears as the blue question mark rather than the Earthcache icon. Is this something that Groundspeak needs to fix because it looks like that is the way the info was sent. Note: I used the send to GPS button on cache page. Also when I load a cache I have found I don't get a smiley icon, instead I get the cache icon. I've posted this in the GPS Units and Software Forum but I think it need to go here instead.
  9. It seems to be just the earthcache icons as I tested the rest and they all appear correctly. However caches I have found don't appear as a smiley, instead they appear as the cache icon.
  10. Upload Field Notes from your Garmin Colorado What a GREAT feature. I starting to love my CO!
  11. Just noticed this on a cache I just downloaded to my CO. I downloaded an Earthcache but the cache icons appears as a blue question mark rather than the Earthcache icon. With the new firmware update it now shows on the map also as a blue questionmark. Is this something that Groundspeak needs to fix because it looks like that is the way the info was sent. Note: I used the send to GPS button on cache page.
  12. What is Support for Colorado Field Notes, at geocaching.com?
  13. While drinking my coffee this morning I saw this commercial on CNN about this skateboard company that released the skateboard and then an artist painted the design and the some skaters adjusted the wheel configuration and did some shape modifications. I wasn't awake enough for all the rest of the details or the product or company, but it did get me thinking about Garmin and the Colorado . I'll try to watch for it again and maybe find it on YouTube.
  14. I need a new auto mount for my CO so I went to Ram Mounts and ordered one last Wednesday to Thursday. I got a confirmation email and that said it would 24-48 hours to process my order then it would be shipped. Well, I came home yesterday to find an email from another online merchant that Ram Mounts farmed the order out to. Yes, farmed out! It stated that there is an exception on my order. The following items are not yet available from Ram: HOLGA27. That is the holding bracket for the CO. They have them listed on their website but have not shipped them out yet. They will be available as pre orders only. The online merchant that my order was farmed out to will gladly hold my order until they arrive. Ram's estimate of the timing is: MARCH 26. First I was a little displeased that Ram Mounts made no indication that they are not the direct merchant. I thought I was dealing with Ram Mounts directly. Second, they have all the mounts listed for the CO and able to purchase but you will not get them until March 26.
  15. I'm trying to make a Star Trek puzzle cache and I want to title the cache ɹɛzɪstɛnsˈɪzˈfjutaɪəll by I can only get the cache page to come out as ??z?st?ns'?z'fjuta??l. What, if anything can I do?
  16. It will take three additional weeks after the website says "mailed".
  17. It is caused by bug spray and/or sunscreen that was on your fingers or oversprayed onto the unit.
  18. Yea, but all the other data was there, the turn arrows and the message turn alert at the top of the screen.
  19. I've also notice that when I'm in City Nav. 2008 NT and I build a route to a waypoint by road and I then turn City Nav. off and turn topo maps on, there is no turn chime. However, the turn arrows still appear on the map and the message turn alert still appears at the top of the screen.
  20. Okay, mine don't appear at a walking pace, I have to be going in a car at about 20 mph.
  21. I tried moving and still don't get the red pointer back again. I've also tried with the compass on and off.
  22. Just noticed something, when you are in the screen list of waypoints, geocaches, or POIs a red pointer appears very briefly, say about 1 second. Then it seems to randomly cycle between the red pointer and the cardinal directions. How do you get the red pointer to stay or stay longer? vs.
  23. Dare, I didn't keep the lanyard. I'll check at my local big box stores.
  24. Indoor temp: 75 CO: 73 (setting on desktop for 20 hours) Outdoor temp: 38 CO: 39 (setting outside for 40 minutes) Where is the sensor on the CO? Also, does anybody have a better teather option for the CO than the carabiner while being held in your hand? I cannot bend the strap back enough to wrap the carabiner around my fingers. Plus the darn thing is a SOB to get on and off of the back of the CO. I like having the added security of have the CO teathered to my hand or wrist while running, going over rugged terrain, or over water (since it doesn't float).
  25. I noticed this today while out caching. When you have the CO with "Track Up" and you are navigating to a waypoint, POI, or just tracking along then if you go to pan to a different waypoint or POI the maps switch to North Up. It is a little disorientating. Would be nice it stayed in "Track Up" mode. The CO freezes on start up when you get the "Batteries Low: To conserve power tones have been disabled and backlight has been limited." (Happened three times in a row) The CO also froze on "Show Hint" (Happened twice) I also miss the Power On or Power Up chime.
