Why adopt? Post the NA and if/when the caches get archived place your own. If you want to pay homage to the old caches, add a link to the old archived caches in your cache description. Are they puzzle caches and you want to retain the puzzle? Thanks again for the advice. Neither of them are anything special other than a good location to visit, so having them archived for a bit will not put anyone out. One of the caches has not been found for several months, but it is my target for today. The other constantly has a "NM" tag but the cache is still there, I was there yesterday. I think the problem is with the design of the container allowing rain to enter constantly destroying the logs. After my search this afternoon I will probably tag them both with a "NA".

OK, let me see if I'm getting this right. There are a couple local caches that belong to the same owner. Both caches have several "NM" logs on them already. According to the user profile for the owner they have not visited the website in over a year. Would I be justified in sending a "needs archived" log along with a note that I am willing to adopt both if the owner has lost interest? Thanks for any advice.

Any luck getting help with this? The area you're talking about is very near where I'm currently located. I'd be willing to take the troops out to find this one for you.

Add another for Greene Co. Just moved to Fairborn from Ft. Bragg NC. Does anyone hide anything besides micro's around here?? My kids are getting into caching and like to search for ones where they can trade swag.

Unfortunately caching got some bad press in the Dayton, Oh area last night. This story made the local TV news and looks like today's paper, hope UPI doesn't pick up on it and blow it way out of proportion. I have a Rino520 that I want to have CityGuide US maps for street level navigation and Topo US2008 maps for caching. Is there some way to set the mapsets up so I can switch between the two quickly and easily. Whenever I try to load them from Mapsource the last one loaded erases whatever was already on the unit. Is it possible to rename the sets so they show up as roadmaps and topo maps on my unit? I thought I saw a topic about this on the fourms but I can't find it now and the search yielded nothing.

Just wanted to chime in on this one no problems with ALLTEL Motorola RAZR v3c running Openwave 6.2.3. Wish I'd seen this months ago.

Is there any app that will auto-route with a loaded map? I like the detail I get with Topo USA, but it would be great not to have to get a vehicle specific gpsr for trips.

Sorry for making everything confusing. I do my trip planning on Delorme Street Atlas and load maps from the Garmin Topo 2008. I'm not able to navigate on anything that didn't come pre-loaded. I can see the surface streets on my 520 but can't auto-nav on them. I can send route info from DeLorme but it doesn't give me any street name when navigating.

I just upgraded from a 120 to the older 520 (not hcx) after my 120 took a bath inside the outer pouch of my camelback. Don't trust any claims of water resistance from Garmin. I did some chaching in Iraq while I was there and it worked extremely well usually getting me within sight of most of the larger caches and within reasonable searching distance of the many micro's.

I've had a 520 for about 3 months now and I've found that it will not navigate on any maps loaded from DeLorme's TopoMaps. It display's the maps, tells you where you are on the map, but it will not auto-route on anything other than the original basemap or one loaded from Garmin's Streetmap software. The Garmin program is ok for long trips on major roads but once I get close to somewhere I like to be able to navigate on the surface streets that the DeLorme software shows. If someone knows how I can make this happen the assistance would be greatly appriciated.
