  1. It is not on your list, but 'real soon' there will be a GPS-66: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:-0PCiVqZnzYJ:https://www.sued-west.com/Ausruestung/Outdoor-Technik/Navigation/Garmin-GPSmap-66s.html%2BGarmin+GPSmap+66s&client=opera&hs=Cxb&channel=suggest&gbv=1&hl=de&ct=clnk link from: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into-sports/garmin-connect/the-water-cooler/1397757-garmin-gpsmap-66-s
  2. My guess is that there are some invalid characters in the fieldnote file; like e.g. an " or a Retrun inside the fieldnote. This causes the validity check to fail on the website, making it impossible to upload the file. You can try to open the fieldnotes.txt file in Notepad, and check that there are no strange symbols in the file.
  3. If VantagePoint uses the windows part WinHTTP or ony of the classes that depend on it like ServerXMLHTTP.6.0 or WinHttpRequest , it might be possible to change some registry entry's. These are libraries in Windows that give programmers a standard way to communicate with websites; and it is very likely that VantagePoint also uses it. These libraries are updated to also use TLS 1.1, 1.2 etc but are not automatically set to do that; so they will still try to use TLS 1.0 is nothing is set. You can however customise this behaviour by setting some register entries in windows, so it automatically uses TLS1.1 or 1.2 This can be done 'automatically' if you use the 'download'button onder the 'easyfix' title n https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3140245/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-a-default-secure-protocols-in I dont have VantagePoint, so I can not test it for you.
  4. To open the can of worms a little bit more: Technically deleted logs are not deleted... They are just marked invisible. (that why you can still see your own deleted logs if you have the correct link to it) So GC still has a yob to do the really remove these logs (and pictures) According to the GDPR you have to really delete all the info if the person asks for it; hiding is not enough.
  5. Be aware that the coordinates that show in Google Earth are deliberate changed a few meters/feet. So you have to use the website or app to get the exact coordinates of the cache.
  6. If this is constructed as 7 mysteries, it will break the proximity rule: Since the beacon is something you put there; it is a physical waypoint of the cache. This same location can then not be used again for one of the other mysteries. Each should have its own beacon/location. This of course depends on how the reviewer/HQ interprets the rules...
  7. Be aware that you have to USE the GPS during the cache. So you cannot only use 'letterbox-style' instructions, like 'go third street left', 'find the house with to turquoise mailbox'
  8. If I'm not mistaken, the waypointfield uses bbcode to add some spice to it. So you can use [br] to add a newline, and [red]for color[[/red] That means we have three different coding styles on the website: HTML for the cachepage description BBcode for the waypoints Markdown for the logs
  9. They seem to have quietly added an extra pointoption: Will this be in additon to the normal points you get for a cache (5,10,15) or just replace them ?
  10. Photo's: no (unless you use a special Macro in GSAK) Hints: When you actively navigate to a Cache , the you will get a seperate 'hint'menuitem in the Geocache-menu
  11. What you have done is linked a PDF program with the .gpx file extension. Windows will then show a PDF icon along with the file. That does not change the file to a PDF-type, but it only looks like that. If you move the file to the GPS, the file should still work on the GPS, because the file extension is stil .GPX To change the link to the PDF program, you have to delve deep into windows. An easier way is to just relink the .GPX extension to e.g. Notepad. Copy the file to your desktop, rightclick onthe file with 'shift'-key pressed. Select 'Open with', in the list you get change it to e.g. Notepad (sometimes you have to browse to c:\windows\notepad.exe) en set the checkbox to 'always open with this program'
  12. Did you also install the 64bit fix and the map-fix (both found in this forum?) https://forums.geocaching.com/GC/index.php?/topic/212622-Wherigo-builder-and-64-bit-windows/#comment-3840336 https://forums.geocaching.com/GC/index.php?/topic/267822-the-emulator-has-a-google-maps-api-key-error-and-crashes/&do=findComment&comment=5572131
  13. I also dont get any emails from the message center. this started more than a month ago i think. Now I have to check the messageboard a few times a day
  16. I guess that the 'noch keine genaue Koordinaten' is caused by looking on the map for the cache. That will give approximate coordinates. If you retrieve the cacheinformation ('information aktualisieren') it will get the Cachedetails via the api-call, including description, and the real coordinates.
  17. Basically that also means that ANY co-operation of geocachers is also not allowed. Since you have to contact some else before you can do the cache. The gist of the rule is probably "contact the cache owner or some (or more) specific person". But now it blankets out any communication requirement between geocachers. So caches where each geocachers walks a specific route and has to communicate with the other group are not allowed (like https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5M6E5_coca-op-de-brunssummerheide ). Making appointments to do a 'teamwork' required' cache also is off limits because you have to 'contact someone else'
  18. Loading caches in GSAK and Exporting caches to your GPS are TWO DIFFERENT steps. It seems you are doing only the first step: loading the caches into GSAK; that gives you a correct summary. After you have loaded the caches in GSAK, you have to export these caches to your GPS. Exporting is done either by GPS-send waypoints, or by File-export-GPX or by a special Macro for your GPS
  19. Never mind the below The display was distorted by a greasemonkey script; that somehow doesnt like the new page. ---------------------------- It doesnt look good in Firefox, somehow the design is wider than my screen. Even if I change the screen width, the FAQ column still stays very small, and the 'ul links' column has a still the complete right white side. Only when I make the display very small, so all is displayed in one column, I can read the links and the FAQ. (I pasted a screengrab in the editor, it showed, but disappeared when the reply was 'saved')
  20. That makes it even scarier, because then you have to return ALL your PQ's at the termination of your premium membership. So somehow you have to retain them all, or return them when you are done with each PQ
  21. When I check the 'Unread Content' on the forum, I never see any topics that are updated in some of the subforums. If I go directly to the main-forum, I can see there are unread items in the subforum. This happens .e.g on the subforums under Geocache Types and Additional GPS Based Gameplay In the 'unread Content' I never see topics in the subforum 'Eartcaches', or 'Wherigo' Even though there are new messages in both forums. and the smae thing happens in Geocaching Discussions by Country If I use my own 'unread stream' it also does not show. Even though I have all the subforums checked as 'following'
  22. Even better: It should 'unlock' the waypoint that is linked to the checker. (That also has the benefit that if the CO moves the location, you automaically get the new coordinates) 6. Checkers should be available on all invisible waypoints (Some mysteries have a puzzle to start a Multi-cache)
  23. Seems to be working again. Thanks HQ
  24. Currently no server error anymore, but cannot login anymore... After a long wait I get redirected back to the page I was, without being logged in
  25. He/she can also just write some code in Javascript, put that in a html-page, and let the browser execute the program. No downloading required; not even an internet connection Ans depending on his/her computer system he/she already has a lot of programming languages onboard: like VBA in the microsoft office familie; javascript in the WindowsScriptingHost; the macro languuge of GSAK
