  1. I've got the 4" cup - it's not moved since attached to the windscreen some months ago. You have a choice of arms, 5" and 7" I believe. The 7" is more versatile, allows you greater choice of where the cup goes on the windscreen without the gps being too far away for viewing. ( I was able to mount it all without affecting the driving view). I am very satisfied with the product. The screw in button that came with the gps has to be fitted in order to attach the gps to the RAM cup. This may prevent use of the protective cover. Geoff
  2. I'd like to say thanks to ThePropers - sat down last evening, followed the guide and it has worked perfectly for my 60cx. Cheers Geoff
  3. Thanks for this update Barry, it's a great utility. Geoff
  4. Garmin 60cx with Topo UK will be excellent for geocaching and the maps also provide on road routing. I would look around the internet before buying from Millets though.
  5. Topo Uk will provide accurate mapping to include rivers, lakes, woods etc. (paths are not too clear), so very good for geocaching. The bonus is that it includes routing by road. I have a 256mb card which holds almost all of the south of England (Bristol-Essex), I doubt a 1mb card would hold all of Topo UK. Geoff
  6. I had exactly the same problem with my first 60cx. The maps locked (UK Topo) within a few minutes of leaving home. This was with the original 64mb card. The unit was exchanged, I installed a 256mb card and and had only one or two lockups. Since up grading to 2.71/2.5 I have had no problem. WAAS is off. Geoff
  7. I've had a SysOnChip CF card for over a year - used in my 2210. Works very well. Geoff http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/sysonchipcfplus.php
  8. Well done to Macroderma who did his 400th cache at my "Pine Needles". He's been very busy completing over 400 in less than a year. Geoff
  9. Now that is worth a congratulations thread. Thank you and well done. Geoff, Bonnie & Jack
  10. Just wanted to ask if zooming in had any affect on showing the paths? Geoff
  11. I had a similar problem, Extrex Vista worked one day on the serial port (Easy gps/GSAK) didn't work the next time and, to my knowledge, with no changes to the set up . I bought a serial to USB conversion cable and it has been OK since. Geoff
  12. I have the same problem, can't get in using "pass". Geoff I cant see an account for you in the forum section, have you tried to register ? I am trying to get past the front page not into the forums. I thought I'd had an account since day 1. I can go straight into Trigs. Geoff
  13. I have the same problem, can't get in using "pass". Geoff
  14. I agree, the Hound Tor virtual was a great walk when we stayed in Belstone. A view for miles and no other people in sight. Geoff
  15. The x version does not work with Anquet maps either. Geoff
  16. Good luck to all concerned. Might be worth checking the Portsmouth caches as I believe they are tied to a series that has not been available for the best part of a year. Geoff
  17. That's a pity, I was hoping to do the cache before going to the pub. Geoff
  18. I'd also like to know if dogs are allowed in the skittle alley. What time will the cache sheet be available or will it appear on the web on Saturday? Thanks Geoff
  19. Visit glorious Devon and try Hound Tor (GCG4CR) - best on a sunny day! Geoff
  20. Martin, my sympathies. I know what you are going through. Geoff
