  1. "I've found something better than a washing machine - I may be some time..."
  2. I look forward to seeing its return. Its a super site thanks to the hard work of all involved.
  3. So conclusion? Don't bother and buy one in Canada or the USA for a fraction of the cost Does this make the UK the most expensive GPS buying place in the world?
  4. Pottering around on the Internet (as you do) I discovered that Tesco are now selling GPS devices including the hallowed 60CSX. And whats more you can buy it with just clubcard points! If you are a Tesco shopper and fanatical clubcard points collector you can now get yourself a nice shiny new device with your bananas The range starts from the basic yellow eTrex and works up. And in theory purchasing it with clubcard points makes it free. Has anyone purchased one this way, and if so is it all as good as it sounds? My apologies if I am not divulging anything new.
  5. Isn't someone urinating on you classified as assault these days? If you were brave enough to save the ruined clothing you could if the Feds were good get them to attempt to get DNA from it. Our local public transport people carry around assault kits now - spitting or other fluids gets instantly swabbed. So sorry you had to endure that foul behaviour
  6. I had a green one which I placed in a cache in Leicester this week, but if you can make it all the way from Hertfordshire to the bash in Nuneaton on Saturday you can log a White Jeep before I place it in a cache next week The green one might appear there too if the current holder attends. Edited due to reading the OP's name wrong. Doh!
  7. Mine is more or less the same as Stuey's, then I go off to my OS paper map or A-Z street map to work out locations and route. I like all caches, regardless of shape, size and location The only time I get annoyed is when the filters miss out one or two caches - you know they are there but arent showing on downloaded GSAK on your PDA You usually discover this when you are out in the wild too...
  8. Popped in, said my hello's, and a nice warm welcome I received too after my long absence Thanks folks! Anyone not yet had a chance to visit please do - you'll meet a bunch of reprobates lovely people
  9. Können wir Sie interessieren mit einer deutschen Anmerkung?
  10. Darn! Saw this thread too late and missed out on the ordering.
  11. If there was enough interest I could make moves to set up a Midlands region one? It would have to be the whole of the Midlands as I dont think there are enough cachers for seperate East and West
  12. He's finally saved up enough money to buy us all a drink?
  13. Congratulation! Bet copius amounts of coffee drinking took place too
  14. Ravenclaws would never forgive me if I didnt! He would love to stay at Chez Tinkerbell.
  15. Found three very tiny ticks enjoying my blood after caching in my local deerpark. They like climbing up bracken to wait for passers by, but I also caught two crawling up my arm after resting on a rocky outcrop. I was wearing a pale blue top which made them obvious to the eye. Thankfully they didnt crawl onto my 7 year old son. I usually get rid of them via a hot needle held onto them, but thanks to the above advice I wont be doing that anymore! Do those vet gadgets work on the tinier ticks or are they just for the bigger ones? As for Mr.Dewdrop, I think you have been victim of a horsefly. Nasty little so and so's, them.
  16. I have two caches I placed with the wheelchair/pushchair user in mind. However one now cannot be done without help as its moved due to the cover changing. I use the handicaching system which I hope helps people decide if to tackle or not. I will be placing more with wheelchair users in mind after meeting one such cacher last summer at an event
  17. Sandy area has some excellent caches, including some cunning Pharisee ones . Yup, still up for it. Get those head torches at the ready
  18. A bump to let people know that I will be placing a new cache near Leicester next week with a White Jeep TB (it fits in the cache - just) Activate those notices and keep your PQ fingers poised
  19. The moderators are being rather quiet on the plastic bag issue
  20. Nothing I'm sorry to say. The screen freezes, thats all. I sometimes drop in via the other chat system and find no-one is about
  21. Basically it logs me on. Then I wait...and wait...and wait....and wait....and it dies. Its as if its searching for the server and gets distracted by a prettier server from another country For all I know its currently in a bar in Hong Kong eyeing up other servers. I love metaphors
  22. Its also against Groundspeak rules to place a cache container in any plastic bag I believe? *awaits moderator to confirm or deny* Because of this I have together with other cachers CITO'd bags we find. Some of the bags we've found have been really revolting! It only takes moments to camo up a container. I find black insulating tape sticks well to cache containers. On a more positive note I use Wilkinson's Lock and Lock containers, which come in many shapes and sizes and at good prices. I have two of their large containers which have been in the wild for over a year now and both are still in excellent condition and still airtight. If you have a branch of Fennicks near you they now stock the entire range of the original American Lock and Lock containers, from the teeniest pocket sized one (a nice alternative to micros) to ones so big an ammo can would fit inside. And a mind boggling range of shapes too...
