Check out http://rwsmaps.griffel.se There are a couple free Japan maps listed for Garmin units. Not sure if they route.

1. CenTexDodger, thanks for the info. I tried it out, and it works. 2. imajeep: This problem only occurs when I am entering the route in the GPS. MapSource works just like you mention, but my PC is not always available, so I was trying to experiment on the GPS. I ran into this issue because I am currently in the US and I was trying to enter some routes in Europe, which obviously created a calculation error. I am surprised that there is not a more obvious/user-friendly solution. I think a check box stating whether or not you want to start from the current location would be better. Thanks for your replies.

I have a Garmin 76CSx with the latest updates (3.3 unit software and 2.9 GPS software). When I create a route, it creates a route starting from the current location. Is there a way to disable this? Example: I enter waypoints B1 and B2 as the endpoints of my route. When I hit Navigate, it creates a route starting from the current location: <current location> to B1 to B2. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Danny

Well, after contacting them via the web site, they now say my rebate is valid and scheduled for final processing. Keeping my fingers crossed ...

They lost my first rebate submission. After sending it again, rebatetrack says I have a missing serial number. Where exactly is the serial number? I used the number that was under the rubber cover, next to the external data port.
