  1. G'day everyone! Later this year we intend to visit Scotland (with a short layover in London). We both have iPhones and would like to use these for Geocaching (to back up our GPS) whilst travelling around Scotland for a few weeks. We need some advice as to which provider/sim card/pre-paid/whathaveyou we should pick up to make this possible. We will be using a lot of data (Geocaching app, as well as various other apps such as Facebook, weather, banking, etc) so need to find a good sim card to use that gives us a few weeks worth of data; to be frank use of phone and sms would be limited so the main thing is the data. Are there any recommended service providers with good data plans, for temporary use? Good coverage, esp travelling through Scotland (doing Edinburgh, then driving over to the Isle of Islay, down to Glasgow and return).
  2. I love the lurking and sneaking! But I also love the boldness of acting as if you are completely normal (on your knees with your head under a bench...)....
  3. Nissan GU Patrol, 4 inch lift, big chunky mud terrains, steel barwork all around, spotlights, radio antennas, onboard GPS system (which is totally useless for geocaching!) - that's my only car, so it does all the offroad stuff with ease and it's fun manoeuvering it around in tight city alleys and streets ...... ok that sucks, but we generally park in the vicinity of a few caches and then wander around sniffing them out - the more walking for the Geo-Beast and I the better!

  5. I generally cache by myself and the Geo-Beast (combining an extra walk for her with my hobby!). Sometimes my Geo-Partner-In-Crime and I cache around to explore places we're travelling in (great thing to get to know a new city, town, area or to break up a long drive!) and sometimes I take the Geo-Stepdaughter, who is learning to drive so it combines great driving practice for her and also we get to hunt on the way!
  6. G'day, I've been geocaching since Xmas eve 2010, when my sister dragged me with her to see what this geocaching business was all about. Well we found our first cache after a long and hot search, but the thrill of the hunt and then the satisfaction of making the find and the excitement of seeing what was in the container had us all hooked! So the Lindsay Larrikins and us (jmandea on patrol) are "out there" and on the hunt! I'm working my way up to 100, which I hope to have by the end of this weekend (we have 80 so far, prob a few more but I haven't worked out how to import logs from GC Australia yet!). The geo-beast loves it, as the humans now join her in that endless running around in circles and sniffing around under bushes that dogs enjoy so much!
