When ever I get a PQ I unzip it in Windows. I nearly always get 2 files
One is the GC's and the other is waypoints . Inc in the latter file name is " WPT"
This is car parking location etc
I never load this.
Maybe check you have loaded the correct file, usually the bigger GPX. If you can see the car parking waypoints at a distance you should be able see the GC's.
You could try deleting the gpx file from 64S. Restarting then shut down and again reload gpx. When you start gpsr again it should have reindexed the files
In the past I have "lost" records so they don't show although the PQ gpx file is in memory. The above procedure usually gets things back
-
Don't think so
I generated a small pq yesterday
The zip file contained two gpz files, one was "... Wpt.."
I later did a live download to my 750 and just the pure GC Data was loaded.
To be honest IMHO I would not wish the Wpt files added to the 750. The screen would become incredibly crowded not to say confusing.
If one uses the GC profile in the 750,. Then looking at the " nearest cache" listing would be a night mare. Is it a cache or a car park place.
You could I suppose add both Gpx files via USB and see what happens, and whether it suits your preference

Seeing this topic and not being Mac savvy, I cannot help but go off at a slight tangent and toss in the suggestion of storing PQ's on your 64s on a micro SD card if you haven't done so already.
I have a 64s and a 750T and keep PQ and third party OSM maps thereon. GC's sometime disappear although the GPX file is still seen on the device.
The removable card allows one to re-index GC's if they disappear as has happened to me several times.
[ take out SD card , reboot, reinsert card reboot and they are restored}

Meant to say HHL' s advice!
Still trying with image!

I have 750T with firmware 3.33
Checking BULl's advice on SETUP, there is no option for an arrow
Either
Directional letters
Numeric degrees
Mils
I have set mine to degrees and that is what appears on the cache lists page.
One just has to visualise the degrees in terms of direction.

Photo of screen hopefully to follow

I have the case, worth it not just for screen protection
Having had a 60, 62 and 64 ( now oregon 750).,I have had experience of the writing on the rubber keys abrading away
The case stops that
Have made my own eneloop battery cassette based on advice from this forum.
2 batteries, clear shrink tubing and a shaped piece of wood to fill the triangular gap between the batteries. This triggers the small switch and it works like the garmin kit AND it charges in situe. Via the usb cable. Never take batteries out. Just peel back the top of the case
Got for the micro sd card 4gb is big enough generally.
I put 3rd party maps on it and my geocache. For various reasons which I won't bore you with have found it valuable to be able to take out the card now and again

Found the answer
Change History
Changes made from version 2.90 to 3.10:
Fixed issue where track portions were being saved incorrectly.
Fixed issue where a geocache list deleted from geocaching.com would still show up on the device.
Fixed issue where the course line would always be drawn from the vehicle on the map.
Changes made from version 2.80 to 2.90:
Added support for Connect-IQ version 2.2.3.
Fixed issue where Round-Trip distance could not be modified.
Fixed issue where swiping between multiple trip computer pages did not work.
Fixed issue where selecting direct routes with more than 50 waypoints did not work.
Fixed issue where track recording would stop after switching profiles.
Fixed issue where powered off pressure trending would not work.

Whilst Wi-Fi was connected this update was loaded. No message received, just loaded on reboot
Not sure what the changes are though

Digressing on the water'proofness' of the 64s, I dropped mine in a lock on the river Thames. 5 meters down, 15 mins! A magnet to the iron caribiner recovered it. 2/3 oz of water inside. Non functional
Took case apart, drained and into a warm place in a bag with a cup of rice grains. 2-3 days later, dry and working , still going after 2 years

I also would be interested to know how the icon size can be increased
Seem to have gone everywhere in the settings of my 750T
You can increase the text size of a waypoint etc but the icon size stays the same
Look forward..

I am in the same boat as you, stuck on map load screen
Rang garmin uk

I am using a garmin oregon 750t
The fix hasn't worked so will be phoning again Monday
This advice above is fairly generic
I think I have loaded a corrupt map to the device not a card
Tried different pc, cables nada!
This may be of help to you

========
I refer to your recent enquiry concerning the above.
I would recommend performing a soft reset while the device is connected to a computer. Please follow the instructions in the attached user manual [Page 16]
http://static.garmin.com/pumac/Oregon_7xx_OM_EN.pdf
If this fails I would recommend performing a Boot Block:
Mass storage devices typically appear as a drive on your computer, allowing easy access to data on the device regardless of operating system. Occasionally, the device may not appear as a drive. To troubleshooting an outdoor USB mass storage device that is not being recognized by the computer the following steps can be performed.
If the device is not recognized as a drive:
- Ensure device interface option is set to Garmin Spanner or Garmin Serial1
- Answer Yes to any prompt to enter mass storage mode
If device is still not recognized after one minute, the steps below will be necessary.
- Ensure device battery is fully charged
- Disconnect device from computer
- Power device off
- Press and hold the POWER button
- Plug device into computer
- Wait until device is recognized by computer, it may take up to 30 seconds for device to be recognized as a drive
- If prompted, install USB device drivers
- Release appropriate button(s)
- Backup device to http://www.garmin.com/basecamp to backup device
- Right-click on device drive
- Click Eject
- Disconnect device from computer
- If required, insert batteries into device
- Power on device
Your device should now function normally
If this fails I would recommend cleaning the charge contacts on the unit and charging accessory:
The following non-abrasive substances can be used to clean the contacts:
- Rubbing alcohol/Isopropyl (Recommended method)
- Eye glass cleaner
- Electronic screen wipes
- Pencil eraser
I would also strongly recommend trying to replicate this at another computer.
If there is anything else I can help you with then please let me know. Alternatively you can search for a solution here: https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/

My 750 has just done an over the air update to v 2.8 automatically via Wi-Fi
Am visiting Seville in Spain for a long weekend from UK. I don't have any proper 'net access
Can someone please find what the update gives us?
-
Yes the Gold master version is 2.7. Did an update via Garmin express.
The pages on live GCing are better
Down loading PQ/LISTS is better now
The lists page shows status is synced / not synced for each list
At long last after 3 months I have got it to load a list to the device, painfully slow
It first loads the "headers" fairly quickly and then says other data will be loaded in the background. Flip back to the list screen and it will show % loading progress. Really slow
I can only do this via Bluetooth and the iPhone app G Connect
The iPhone is connected via Wi-Fi however
It will not load lists only via Wi-Fi, it just fails. I have an" issue" registered with garmin technical to resolve
It shows weather, emails etc on " straight" Wi-Fi but not load lists
The good thing is that the PQ is being fully loaded, logs, hints, descriptions etc. This is the first time this has happened in 3 months since new and now I don't need to hook up to the pc!. Fingers crossed
However it will take a long time to sync 1000 gc's

Is this a beta update or gold master up date for all
If the former how does one get on the beta testing list please mmm

I looking for two tweaks if available
Have had unit for 3 months, a mix of delight and frustration. I upgraded from 64s
Frustration 1
Live GC download. Won't rant on intermittent service and inability to download full data but when I do get unit to connect the list of lists shows PQ that I did some time ago. Just now I have only 4 downloadable PQ. The unit shows 9. These include some done a month ago. Cannot get unit to refresh list to current status. Tried deleting downloaded info. No joy
Any ideas please?
Frustration 2
In activity mode the map screen is locked first up. Hit a small icon and one can move away from that screen N,S E or W.
The lock also avoids inadvertent screen changes
Btw I find the unit prone to changing setup of screens and fields
I use the user key defined screen on/off but even in activity mode this is not enough to stop the unit doing its own thing
Thus I am torn between activity mode and going back to classic
In classic mode this screen lock icon does not exist or does it?
Any suggestions please

Cracked it!
Rang Garmin Europe, 20 min wait in Q. Explained issue and actions taken to Guy on help desk .
He said " hold on"....... & went away
While waiting I checked device again, fired it up > green bar " waypoints etc" ran, nothing shown in the geocache page listing " No results found"
fiddling in this page I went to the filter icon at the bottom
All filters max'd out there
Sod's law kicks in !!!
I hit the "Status" section on that page and the little faces!
Three choices when you go to the next page Unattempted/DNF/Found.. The unattempted had a red " no entry" marker . Hit it for a green tick
Backed out and the little faces were not 'greyed out', which I hadn't noticed
backed out and the listing is there inc my GC's for south Africa!!
The help desk and I learned something today!! It is strange that the filter had changed, for the worse, after a factory reset
We will see what happens on test this week. Might take my 64S to SA as a backup!

Thanks Red90
Yes I did the SQL deletion both on the device and the card.
I am using Windows 10. There is a myriad of folders on the device but no other seem relevant
Not sure what MTP mode is? Is it a MAC thing ?

many thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions.
I have tried them all in all sorts of combinations, loading maps and PQ both on to device and SD card. I have taken the card out, booted etc and put the card back in
On one occasion I though it had worked, I go the green loading bar for " waypoints etc " and despite the fact that PQ's were on the card in the right folder they didn't show up on the device or map
Looks like a call to Garmin tomorrow
Needless to say I loaded all the south African PQ and maps on the 64S. All fired up Ok and I wizzed down the 6000 miles on the map and all the GC's showed up Bah!!
-
I recently upgraded from a 64S to a 750T
All went ok until today when it wont load PQ's
The map and PQ are on an SD card
It sometimes wirelessly loads them 'over the air' but as we know only in part. no real use
Off the South Africa soon ,[am in the Uk,] and have put all on an SD card the OSM map and the PQ's in the GPX folder
have tried putting both on the internal memory still no joy
Map loads ok as when I zoom the 6000 miles the map shows ok.
But not the 5 PQ's I have loaded
What is not happening is that when starting the device the green progress bar is not showing on the "loading screen"
normally you get " loading waypoints, tracks and routes" Don't get that
just loading maps
Have done a hard reset, still no joy
Any ideas please??
The annoying thing is when putting the SD card in the old 64S all is well. Green bar " loads waypoints etc." and I can wiz down to SA and zoom in and the geocaches appear at the expected zoom level , 2 miles for me
look forward...

Garmin GPSMAP 66 series announced on 2018-08-06
in GPS technology and devices

The "66" screen spec seems to be the same as the Oregon 7** series but non touch.
Size is the same as well
